Reviews for "Star Serpent"

It was too plain

It wa sjust too much like every other arcade space fighter game...
Throw something in to give it it's own flair, maybe that'll make it better :D

Dear Lord, you have destroyed my writing hand

First of all, where in the world did you get the crazy idea that long levels equal good idea? That is stupid. Shooters like this should be able to be played in one sitting.
Another thing, since you decided to have the levels freakin long, why did you not think of putting in a pause button? Seriously, what happens if we have to go take a leak or something in the middle of combat? SOL?
Also, why did you have use continously puss the fire button instead of having auto-fire? Did you hate left handers and want us to lose our left hand?
I played this game until my hand started to feel like it would fall off if I tried much more. I decided to have myself die to get the game over screen. I waited, waited, waited, dear lord, I am not dying, waited, waited, dead, waited, dear lord, points are being added up to main points, the hell?, what kind of an idea is that?, waited, waited, waited. Finally, over 10 minutes after I decided to give up I found that all of my waiting was in vain because there was no game over screen that gave you little stats and junk.
If you want this game to be better then
1) Put in a freakin auto fire
2) Make level shorter. The game should not last longer than an hour
3) Make a pause button
4) Do something with the sound so the firing noises are not so annoying and the music does not loop so apparently
5) More detail in the instructions
6) Maybe more story
7) Give the alien ships formations and junk instead of the same old stuff that come at you every few seconds

This game does not suck, it is just not finished yet. You still have work to do. If decide to ignore our advice and say that your game is fine, then it will suck.

If you like long levels you'll love Star Serpent

All kiding aside...those levels man...waaaaay to long. Are we sopposed to finish the game? Guess not. But the graphics and playability are great. You could make a good game. Release another version after you actually play this one all the way through to see what needs to be changed.

PS
release another version, don't let your hard work go to waste. You are almost there. The game is just about to kicks ass.

Nice idea, nice graphics...

...and that's about all the nice things I can say about this game. Needs an autofire feature and a progress meter, at the very least.

Game Play Not Very Good Much Like It's Story

First off making a game based off the US or UN in such a way is laughable, especially when the game play actually has the enemy with 1,000s of ships ready to attack Earth or did they just "quickly" assemble such an armada so quickly out of thin air. That was your first flaw. (Actually it isn't nice to make fun of any government or people to be honest. But lately Goth kid of the South Park variety have been taking stabs at the US and other countries recently. Too funny due to ignorance.)

The second flaw was the game play. Of course with a story like that I really didn't expect much and I was correct in my assessment. There was lag on lowest quality, however I can not say that was your fault. It may just have been my old computer so I can not really complain on that, but I can comment on it.

However, I was bored to tears playing the game even just the first level. Other people said they fought a boss and then went to the second level. I didn't even stay that long. You had some neat weapons, but that was about it. And you had a very few selection of enemies that just kept coming.

Over all it was poorly executed with both story and game play. But better than I could create as far as game play anyway.
