Great work! I hate bugs, so it is nice to destroy them :) Interactivity got a bit down, because when your head is slow, you easily move the mouse over mouse area, and click there. When you click there, you might:
1. Change window (fixed but putting it fullscreen
2. Press Quality or other buttons
3. Press empty space, and when you click there, Chomp do not chomp, and you miss valuable bugs/bug parts.
Suggestion: You could make some empty safe area on sides of game area, so that if you miss game area a bit, you would hit safe area. Clicking in safe area wouldn't accidently change window or press buttons, but still Chomp would chomp where his currently head is. Chomp's head and bugs/bugparts couldn't enter that safe distance, naturally :)
