Reviews for "Prince of War"

Amazing Game

the games is freakin' fun and the characters were cool.good job on making "hell" as the last level.

Nice improvement

A very well made remake that is adicting and fun:) i loved the fact that you could finally take part in the battle but it is a bit easy except for the guy who has 2 swords but i killed him eventually.
it has room for improvement though.
it would be cool if you could have combos and magic spells instead of just holding down space
if you could choose what sort of person you would be (e.g. warrior priest wizard etc.) and what you looked like
if you could customise your army and choose what you had in it
it would be cool if you had a more advanced attack system to be able to duel with bosses and stuff
if you had different campains depending what race you are such as a human, dwarf ,elf and maybe even an orc campain
or if you could choose where to attack and the enemy moves as in a Total War which would be quite cool

but otherwise this is a great game and good luck if you make more :)

This may just be the best thing to come from AG

~The good~

I loved this game, and I spent about two hours beating it, while reading all of the text and enjoying every minute of it. I really liked the story, it reminded me a lot of Warcraft 3 (not Wow), and making it an RTS is a challenge, especially on flash, but you succeded! The battle engine was interesting, and I love the idea of a big ass fight with two armies starting at opposite sides and charging eachother. There is also a wide variety of characters in this, you got your average troops, which are pretty much fodder for the enemy in the higher levels, and than you have your crazy-ass gryphons, which are just plain awesome. The story in this also reminded me of Warcraft, where the prince betrays the king's orders to fight the enemy, but the main characters, like Pitt, are really memorable. The dialogue in between the fights was also pretty cool, and made the repeatativeness of the game engine lessen. The graphics in this were also VERY impressive, for such an in-depth battle engine and so many enemies on screen, I'd expect them to be stick figures, but no, they're very nicely made, both out side of battle and inside. Also, the backgrounds for each level were done with much skill, every place was different and colorful. The music in the background reminded me of a long war scenario, which was also good.

~The bad~

The biggest problem for me was the linear game engine, The prince only had one move with the sword that, due to the lag, is usually really slow to hit. This makes combat very dull, I found myself just holding the space, and occasionally the shift, button while watching tv. Also, sometimes you just slash and an enemy you don't touch dies, kind of makes it less realistic, you should really fix the collision. I didn't really like the winning conditions either, the main goal is to get your forces into the other base, and you lose if the enemy gets onto your side. That's bull... Some of the time, one weak orc just runs by when you're not watching and you're not fast enough to catch him; the worst part about this is that, when you send more guys out, they don't go for the guy that's about to get through the base, they just keep going straight. You should've programmed the A.I to go for the guy closest to them, not just straight. Another problem I didn't understand is why you lose if ONE orc gets into your base, what's gonna happen, one orc is going to kill us from behind? Very stupid... Also, to win, you need troops, which makes it slow, especially when they go for enemies instead of just going through and ending the fight, it would be a lot easier if you had a number for how many guys you should kill, than it'll let you run through the end, that would be a lot easier, in my opinion. Off the gameplay, there was only one song in the background that was really low, it would be cool if there was some intense music during the boss fights, or at least the last boss. Speaking of sound, voice acting would've been awesome for this game, I would've liked to hear how Pitt would sound! A problem I had with the story is, it always seems like it keeps going, 90 percent of the time after a battle, it says something like "The orcs are fleeing and there forces are completely weekened, this is your time to finish the battle", this is said for most of the game, making me feel like it was going to end any battle, but instead it lasted ALL the way into the volcano, not like I didn't have fun playing it, though ;) The last thing that I would've liked to see is a complete ending, like a cool cinematic of them getting back to the city, all I got were some characters running by while it said who they were, like I wouldn't know, psh...

Overall, an amazing and well thought out game, but did have a lot of glitches and a linear game engine. I still loved this game and hope for some sort of a sequal. I hope this review was helpful!

5/5

This is what makes and adventure game an adventure

It was very fun beating dragons and being able to heal even after youve been knocked out. I liked the various units available, the way to get gold was good and the levels were fairly straight forward and simple to complete. It had a pretty good storyline and it wasnt a super long game. Overall a must play for anyone who likes adventure games. ^_^

Meh.

I had a blast until I concluded that level 10 was impossible and went off to play a different game.
Advice: Make kills hand out more money, by level 9 or 10, otherwise people lose intrest and run off to find something more...easy.
10 for good looks, exciting gamplay, and cutscenes. -1 for random spikes in difficulty.
