It's not bad.

I think that some areas weren't so good, mainly that it seemed like a song with some animations, and not an animation with a song. I think it would have been better if you tried to make it about a single person's dying thoughts and not dying thoughts in general, as many of the images were vague enough to be interpreted to mean almost anything, the photos at the end having the only real personal touch. While the song was not awful, being a musician I can say that any competent artist can compose a piece like that in about three weeks, when an only slightly more touching classical-style piece will take months, maybe years.
The individual animations were very good. Although the mouth talking looked awkward, other than that it flowed very smoothly and all semed to connect and make sense on a level which was very hard to grasp, I had to really think about what it was all symbolic of, and I still can't get the bit with the 3d castle being on the moon as it eclipses the sun. Maybe there is no meaning except what we choose to attach to it. Far too many things are like that, and I hope that that bit was just over my head, not random.

Thank you so much for such a long review!!! I love the long ones... But yes. everything in my movies normally have a purpose. I did this one so long ago i cant remember, lol You should check out my new version though. I updated the look and smoothed it out... Im surprised as how you said the music wasn't horrible but wasn't really great... im actually surprised at how many people thought that about the music... Its one of my fav songs, so maybe i don't know music... lol... which is quite possible...

It chills me this, it's exceedingly deep. I'd go all emo.But I shant. This has some serious meaning, one that makes you think, perhaps that in itself is a talent.

Mind you. i'll be creeped out tonight.
It deserves a 9 and I'm only not giving it a ten, because I couldnt quite make out the song at parts.. but a 9's cool right? :P

Wow.

I am so glad you redid this. Not because it was bad, but because it shows how serious you are to improve upon your skills as an artist. I would say your new version is so much better. I'm glad you took out a lot of the images here that really did not connect with what you were trying to tell. Also some of the more odd gothic like images were distracting from the story you were trying to tell and really lessened the emotional power. You don't want too come off as too emotional as if you are trying to make a scene for the attention of having a scene, being emotional is more about being honest with your feelings and trying to communicate them in a way that others can connect with. It's not an easy thing to tap into it, and in this day and age emotion is often either restricted or overdone. To get it just right will have the best lasting effect on people: because they will see it as real and not just an attention getter or as bizarre. Some people are just not going to connect that way.

As well, your animation skills have vastly improved. Everything that you redid was so much better. Also, whenever an artist is able to revise their work and make it better really shows how great of an artist they are. Be excited for revisions when you can do them because that means you can go back and fix all the little flaws that lessen the story. It gives you the chance to retell the story the way you really want it and allows you the second chance to make it better for the audience. One of the nice things about newgrounds is you get a plethora of critics that will tell you what did and didn't work. That way you also know how it looks from your eyes and the audience. Sometimes as an artist you'll have a certain aspect in mind that you are highlighting but when it comes to show time the audience often sees something else as key.
