Reviews for "Radarix"

Its good but........

Gets boring after a few levels, at least for me anyway. Well if you're into this sort of thing its definitaly a game I would recommend, it stretches your agility and capacity to think on your feet increasingly as the levels progress, which is a great thing. Loved the music on level one, some of the best digitally composed music I have ever heard. Good music all around in fact.

GameSQUID responds:

Glad to hear you liked the music. All of the music has been composed during one week - and I had to work during the day, so I only had a few hours to make the songs :)

Pretty good puzzle game.

The sound gets a littel repetitive and annoying rather quickly, but other than that I played this game for a few hours before I realized that that much time went by. Fun game!!

it was decent

decent idea but repreatitive as hell...make the levels vary in new ways as you get further such as chain reactions for combo or somethin...also combos were really hard to get...also you could make the playing field a bit more interesting...maybe a new scene with each level so you feel like youre getting somewhere...game seemed kinda aimless

GameSQUID responds:

Well, you do get more points for combo's, it just isn't displayed.
I personally get a combon every time until maybe level 8, so for me they're not hard to get, but obviously I've been playing it a lot while developing it.
New scenes every level would be a good idea, but it would increase the filesize even more, and with the different trracks (5 in total), it's big enough as it is.
Thanks for your feedback!

fun game at first

but for some reason i got bored a little quickly. bonus pieces or extra colors as you progress might help. pausing between levels really kills the momentum, maybe just change the background to alert the player that they've moved on...

on the up side, i've never played a game quite like this before. i think i'll be coming back to it again soon.

Keep up the good work, Sven!

MUSIC:
Addicting and motivating at first, though the short, repetative, techno loop might either get irritating or cause seizures after a while.

CONCEPT:
Similar, though less complex, when compared to Big Fish's "Rainbow Web". Radarix is unique with the added time limit and the radar sweep required to validate a match.

GRAPHICS:
The hard work is appreciated. There is room for more detail and color saturation.

GAMEPLAY:
Very challenging to beat the clock. Nice touch is that radar can be accelerated when a match is made. Satisfying when minimum required matches are made. Time clock doesn't state in numbers how much time is available, so we don't know if higher levels mean more available time or same time quantity as level 1.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Took me 3 restarts to understand what the goal was. Instructions say to make "combos" but don't define what a combo is (1 vertical line of 3 matching colors)

OVERALL:
Sven's dedication and unique mindset makes him a stand-out in the sea of copycat and sloppy developers. Seeing no misspelled text is rare these days, and Sven nailed it. Very much looking forward to more games from this talented designer.
