Reviews for "Freedom {durn}"

definitely feeling this.

My dad passed away this December too, so I can definitely feel where you're going with this.
My favourite part has to be where it kicks it real low at 00:47, and the melody just turns so sick at 1:16 - love that.

The 9 is for those distorted guitar chords-- they just threw me off at first, however when it breaks after that clap it worked out nicely ;) Keep doing whatcha do!

durn responds:

:) Thanks Christa. Glad it all struck a chord. ;) -totally- pun intended! oh, oh, I slay myself. :d hmm.. on second thought, that's not that funny. :P which is why I stick to music and not comedy. :)

my condolences on your loss, man.

Very nice rhythm, good song overall

Now, house isn't exactly my forte, but I definitely enjoyed this song. I thought maybe a bit more exaggeration on the melody would have improved the sound, but the subtle changes throughout the song kept my attention. Nice one

durn responds:

aye, it's the little things that go the distance :d but go a little crazier with the melody next time, you say? >:d don't mind if I do! :D thanks for the review, TickleNinja! hehehehe, love that name.

Niice RElaxed feel to it.

00:46 the bass really got me, its amazing. Your music seems to have that chill house feel. its not a bad thing its a good thing here. 2:17 niice break down. very inpressive work dude keep it up seriously.

durn responds:

:) thanks Kavi. same to you, my man! fellow bassheads unite! :D

Groovy

Like the EFX on the beginning organ, flanger/cutoff, its smooth, the drums are crisp, seems like good progression, the bass is fitting and not overpowering, the second organ ties in with with the first, good melody, the break with (what sounds like) a guitar with some FX is a little unfitting to me, But what you bring in right after it makes up for it, The guitar comes back, but it ties in with the little travelling synth you have in the background, From here it pretty much repeats with variance within itself from 3:30 onwards, The ending is nothing amazing neither bad in any way, It is still loopable.

If there was anything to change it would be some very minor FX tweaks and drumwork, but it is great as is.

durn responds:

Thanks for the solid review, Tykwa. :) I suppose the break might not be for everybody but I was tryin' somethin' different with it in terms of effects manipulation. glad you liked it otherwise.

Nice job!

I loved the guitar! I wish I had a guitar vst like this one. Mine sucks :(. I have realstrat... pretty sucky. A perfect song to hear while driving at night. Great job! :)

durn responds:

:) Thanks Dr-Slump. It's one of the Reason standard NN-XT patch, the Strat+Trem, routed through the Thor for a more interesting filter automation during the bridge.
