Reviews for "Leon : Terracotta Murders"

Shiny

I really liked the audio that was provided and you did give credits for its source, so +1 cookie point.

The preloader page was a little cramped with text, but beyond that, the game has a professional feel to it, not that it looked pro, but I could feel that the author was really trying hard to improve every bit of the game, and it added another cookie point on my list for efforts. +2

Then the option for idiot proof tutorial, is really appreciated as well.
Overall feel to the game is relaxed, +2.

The fact that there was even a V/O (voiceover) with subtitles, so more points to the list, because it wasn't just plain reading, but it also attempts different emotion and feel, with some slangs, haha! +2

On to the game play and navigation, it was a little tedious to move close to things first everytime before being able to do anything (I admit I'm lazy).. (-1) but the game was detailed. Anybody ever mention the koi looking fish in the tank at the start? (+1) I really liked that one. I was also impressed when I used the map, the guy really took it out of his pockets (+1), whereas I would imagine other games just tossing out a picture they call a map.

The 8 points are now justified. :)

Thanks for the great review!

Leon fantastic name

leon is my real name... and why did you choose it? its quite quirky...

i just give u 10/10 for the name leon alone...

MrDDK responds:

It's a looong story!

Lost

Decent graphics that work for the game.
Style is nice, represents adventure game well, but walking around in the environment is unnecessary and burdensome, however it hides the unobvious steps well.
Sound gets repetitive, but I won't hold that against you.
What violence?
Interactive, yes.
Humor, not supposed to be, but still helpful.
Good job.

Hmm... most of the game makes sense, I know what direction to go in, but not how to get there. For example, I can see the two sides of the pass, but I just can't figure out how to get the scissors unrusted. Logic says that some kind of acid or reactive agent will work, but the only stuff I can find is vinegar, and the guy at the stand doesn't like the idea of me taking it...

So I'm stuck.

MrDDK responds:

perhaps if you talk to the shopkeeper you might be able to tell him somthing that could distract him long enough for you to use the vinegar

Hard to Figure out

I have tried to play this game twice now. I don't get very far though. I know, you already know about the arrows so i wont mention that again. But Im not sure if people know that once you've been to a place, you can click it on your map and it will take you there, so that saves some time. I tried to look at the game help site but it wont load at all. So if you could post some hints, like how to get a pass, or how to get an old brochure, that would be very very helpful. All in all, I like it!

MrDDK responds:

if you can't get the guide to load then email me and i'll send you a copy of it

Sorry to say, but bad interface.

I am playing through the game, and I noticed a few things.
A) when you use an item on another, it only gives you a message for the first thing you use it on, or at least only vocalizes it. Not sure if this is only for invalid combonations or not.
B) after talking to the detective, there's a smell link that doesn't work in subsequent looks.
C) the guide on you website refuses to load, despite the rest of the site running fine. Possibly something wrong with the .swf?
D) A possible bug, or maybe just a block in the game, that I can't get past without the guide, Why doesn't the traveller take my mostly new guide?

MrDDK responds:

It's not a broken game, you have to make the brochure look old... perhaps dip it in mud and dry it?
