Reviews for "The History of Animation"

Nice but a little inaccurate.

Dude? the first signs of So called movements were sort of seen in Lauscaucs cave, youre right on that.
BUT-
the first sequence drawing was an ENCHANTED DRAWING (by James Stuart Blackston) 1900 !!
And only then- the first Cell animation in 1914.
1914- Gertie the Dinasour !
1929 the Skeleton Dance!- (Disney)
Then there was a strip of horse photographs- which was a bet on whether or not the horse lifts all feets up.
The first Handrawn color Cartoon was Little Nemo .(WinsorMcCay- 1910, 1920.
1932- " Flowers and trees- the first COLOR Processed cartoon (not hand colored! (Disney)
First Cartoon With Sound was Steamboat Willie! 1928

So pretty nice flash, but youre missing the main Keypoints in animation hostory.

cyberen responds:

Well thanks for picking up the slack.

Cool

It's nice to see a semi-documentary on here where people can learn :)
Just a couple things I think someone has touched on already, but whatever. Prince Achmed was the very first animated film, not Snow White. It was a sort of puppet-silhouette-like movie done in the 1910's.

Also, in your extras, you show a picture of an animation camera and say that it's "obsolete". That's not entirely true, many studios still use them, but tie them in with digital work. At least they still use them at my school.

Not bashing you, just pointing out a few things XD Very nice piece, keep it up!

I wrote this thing in less than a day. Oopsidoodle.

good

The history of animation is a good, brief description of cartoons, but as the author has already stated that in parts the sound lags from the text but I would say it is worth watching if you have a spare five mins.

cyberen responds:

...the flash is almost 11 minutes long, sir.

Cool.

I learned some stuff. I also liked the reference to that movie thing. It's like "Mystery Science Theatre 3000" or something.
Also, I'd like to say, "\/\/007! Go my great uncle for inventing the thing that makes the color in TV!"

cyberen responds:

WORNSTROM!

interesting

that was a pretty good animation, lot of cool stuff in there i didnt know about, also... Yay america! were the only ones that matter!

cyberen responds:

WE'RE DICKS!
