Good work, but...
That's the most pointless idea ever! You obviously put a lot into this, but you could have made a completely unique flash RPG instead of trying to recreate FF7. It wasn't bad though.

Where to begin...
I really wish I could say something good about this...but I dont think I can. It's pretty poorly presented, clunky, ugly, buggy, and weak in general really. This is something I don't understand (and it doesn't just apply to you): Why do people submit things they admit openly arent finished? This is definately not finished. I have no doubt it could be good in the future but you need to definately work on the menus and coding. You said that you would appreciate any help, well I would be glad to help you out with anything graphical. grab my email address from my profile if you like, or just take this advice - Newgrounds is a harsh place and if you submit something unfinished or ugly, you're gonna get shot down. Anyway man, good luck for the future, FFVII rocks, and get back to me if you would like some help.
Don't blame me
I'm a crazy fan for Final Fantasy as you can see even my name is Square. And guess what, this game is good but needs hell loads of work to be interesting. I expect better quality in part 2
Meh, I can see where you're trying to go...
But you have a long way to travel before you get there.
Some of my complaints:
SLOW (the game hangs between 'scenes' for a good couple of seconds)
UGLY (Yes... It is. Maybe it will be a beautiful butterfly some day, but that day is not today.)
NOT USER FRIENDLY
Well, what falls under that last area... Well, for starters, you need to learn how to make buttons. Trying to click text is much harder than hitting a button. Also, why ask the user what area they want to go to? Is that your save game? That's too easily hacked. BUT, and this is important... if you have never played the game, then wtf do you expect people to enter?
I could go on about this for a while, but you are obviously trying, so I gave this a 2. Actionscript.org and the flash forum here are your friends.
