Reviews for "Mute City [Box-Killa]"

just got your message pretty good song

cool song is it really the one from f zero i tried the game didnt work

Ah pretty cool

I liked this and i loved the game F-zero.

Surprisingly enjoyable.

Typically I find this sort of music to be soulless or devoid of any kind of real soul, given the very nature of what it is. This track, however, felt sort of alive and organic in its arrangement and instrument selection. Plus, it's a very famliar tune, used in a unique and pleasant way here. Nice work on this one.

Box-Killa responds:

Yeah, especially the acoustic guitar half way, it sorta stays ambientish but has a nice hit to it.

I think because it has sort of a lively kinda pad, it makes it seem "organic" and "alive"

Thanks for the review :D

FALCON DRUMS!!

There are so many remixes and remakes of F-Zero's Mute City BGM in Newgrounds' Audio Portal. This one may not be m favorite, but it definetly isn't bad either.

The song does have a nice beat to it, almost sounding Trance, and the filtering of sounds is done pretty professional. I just have one main problem though. I know that this is mainly about the drums and bass just as it was categorized, but I just feel that the main chorus was missing in this. It may be hard to draw out that melody from just these instruments used so maybe it's just the difficulty of the song. It just needed a little more umph. Maybe a good ol' Falcon Punch could've done the trick.

Box-Killa responds:

:D yea you damn request review club, Not quite sure what a falcon punch is....

:D Yeah many people said it needs a bit more oomph, but its supposed to be ambient breakbeat sorta thing. In between breakbeat drum and base and ambience. I thought the clear drums at the end would be enough to finish the song of on a full tone, guess not.

I suppose the song is just a little bit below being satisfying, which makes it sorta adictive because you dont get the whole wham bam in 1 go... LD thanks for the review.

Excellent

Loved the similarities of this song and the original. I felt a rush synchronizing with the tempo, no, not meaning you gave me a boner, but you pleased my soul. So having that said, I award you with a fat ten 10 rating including a 5.

I also enjoyed that this song was rather long, but the file size is pretty huge, only downside. But hey, I'm reviewing songs, not file size.

Box-Killa responds:

Ha, i think I really did give you "one of those"
