Reviews for "Lackadaisical Cohort - Part 1"

very well done

this is such a unique piece. it's really hard to find anything wrong with it because of this. It definitely keeps the listener's interest throughout the song, which is a good thing being 6 minutes for the first half.

Overall, great job. Going to listen to the second part now

InvisibleObserver responds:

Excellent that the first half doesn't scream of repetition.

Dearest InvisibleObserver------>
Honestly, I'm not sure that I possess words worthy enough, to even TRY to convey to you just HOW magnificent this piece is. Ok, let me rephrase that, I know you seem to get irritated when I say things that COULD be misconstrued as putting myself down. I can't imagine a compliment that would honestly show you how beautiful this song is, to me.
You know, there's actually something very nostalgic about the first like, 3 and a half minutes of this one. No, it's not the fact that you've let me listen to this before. Even though, I don't think it had been tweaked quite as much at that point. So don't go thinking I've lost my memory retaining ablilities either. (Although, I DO generally have a tendency to forget things that aren't stapled to my forehead, so. . . )
The layering is simply, immaculate. And your musical depth is deeper than the Ye Briney Blue Sea, Boy. I mean, I can honestly say that I haven't heard something as intricate as this on Newgrounds before (not that I've been combing any genres which contain glitch either but you know what I mean, I hope). That same familiar running melody, popping up throughout the entire piece, sort of closes everything in, or ties it all together, I should say.
Then, given the playing length of the song, and you Sir, have won my ears over, anyway. You're patience must be steel to do this kind of thing, Man. I can't imagine making something like this. At a loss to say anything useful (program/mixing/production wise, I'll just say, people would pay for this sort of stuff, you know.
That's it, that's all I got, Man. You have bestowed this Masterpiece before me and I'm taking a copy of it home with me to listen to whenever I so choose. Your abilities amaze me. I guess I could always say that I'm a bit envious as well. I know that's wrong of me, but you are FAB to the lous, my friend. I mean that, with everything I am. Please keep clipping and glitching and *fill in the blank with another applicable word for this sound*, InvisibleObserver.

.............Take care, be good and remember, IT MUST BE DONE.period

Thanks for hammering keys to form sentences, its good to have you keeping an eye on my work. :)

Layering immaculate, good I was going for that. I don't think I've heard many songs as intricate on NG either to be frank. Its a bit of a shame.

Another work of art.

I'm surprised that this hasn't received more reviews. This is probably one of your best, if not, your greatest work on NG. I'm hoping one of the two parts wins Top 5 this week. Following your recent streak I'm positive they will.

I've decided I'll leave one review on each of the songs =P

The gating/glitches at the beginning were really nice. From straight beat to triplets to eighths. Good way to start the song. As drums enter, feel for the song really starts. Random string samples in there somewhere - can't remember and CBF going back =P are cool, kinda out of place but I think that's exactly what you were after. Haunting.
2:12 - vocal sample - haunting and provocative, in a good way. Awesome.
2:50 - my second favourite part.
4:00 onwards, with the drum/cymbal glitches, most definitely the best/my favourite part of the song. 5:00 likewise, also nice.

Although the song is seemingly repetitive, which isn't a bad thing, it is relaxing, calm and builds up some kind of aggressive huge climax in the final two and a half minutes. Enjoyed heaps. Nothing to complain about, this one goes straight on my favorites. Well done. Looking forward to reviewing the second part.

You work just got ChungStarr'd.

InvisibleObserver responds:

String sound generated is actually from editing % stretch and delay's attack time at exceedingly fast speeds, creating this weird vooshy noise. It is however on the synth string track.

Vocal sample is me. It was a final touch, and I think summarizes my experience with this song quite nicely.

I'm in agreement with the cymbal/rock glitch drums. Love how they turned out.

I just got ChungStarr'd. :O Oh no.

Relaxing

very soothing and relaxing, makes me think of floating in space or something. I enjoyed it.

InvisibleObserver responds:

It must be done.
