Reviews for "The Big Fat Tutorial"

that's would be very helpful for me that...

i'd appreciate it for your work, it's may very big helpful for me and everyone, so u should make more tutorials so i can learining more things from your Flash tutorials, just let me know if u have some good, easier, example of tutorials, alright? give ya full of score 10/10. Very excellent work!!! :)

Helbereth responds:

I'll take this as "Very good, make more!"

Thanks for the review!

Not many get this rating

Tutorials usually please me. But this one takes the cake so far. Great graphics... I'm so pumped about the little logo you used for my song, most people have no idea what shadwrun is, so you get big props for that. I like the other sound and song selections you used as well, very tasteful. This as interactive as it gets, so again perfect score. This bogs down slower machines, but it is well done. Using action script is a gift and you certainly have it! Thanks for using my song too! Keep up the amazing work.

Yeah I realize that about Shadowrun. In the 'fun with masking' easter egg I described it as a cult favorit RPG for a reason. It has a hardcore following, but most people never heard of it. The game kicked arse, though. I haven't seen many remixes from Shadowrun as a result.

The logo (in fact all of them) I drew freehand in flash without a visual aide. I drew Jake from memory (I think I got the glasses wrong, but oh well).

Actionscript gift?
All I did is buttons for moving around the tutorial and music... 0.0. Otherwise I'm AS inept. I find myself spending hours trying to figure out how to animate things people do with actionscript without the actionscript =)

Anyway, thanks for the compliments and the review! Make more Shadowrun remixes!

wow. i learned a lot :P

do you know how to make a layer go out of focus? Ive seen lots of animators use that effect. do you know how? I'm working with MX2004

Helbereth responds:

Near as I know you have to use another program to crat blurred focus effects. Something like Adobe hotoshop or Macromedia Fireworks. If there's a way with flash I don't know it other than the sub-par blur effect you can do with effects.

Thanks for the review, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Good job!

Awsome tutorial dude!

Helbereth responds:

Thanks, dude!

awesome!

Im learning flash myself and all these informations were very usefull! You should make more tutorial (preloaders, animations tips stuff like that) all your explanations are cristal clear

Helbereth responds:

Thanks. I plan to make more, but I have a few other things I want to do first. Making a tutorial is an annoying process - far more annoyng and tedious than a movie, imo - and I'd rather give myself recovery time so my next one isn't just a rehash.

Thanks for the review!
