Reviews for "The Judgement (Pinard)"

Amazing

And the people saying you don't belong here are fucking stupid. Your music is amazing and why would it be unfair that you're here, the music put here are here to be used in flash movies and games as the licensing terms say. It's not a competition for score, it's a place to share music so flash games and movies on newgrounds can use them.

nathanallenpinard responds:

Contrary to my experience, in terms of actual paid work, I'm definetly new.

I agree with Chronamut (sadly)

because of lack of a better word, I will have to say:

This is unfair. You're what, 30? (though you were probs in your 20's when writing this) and you have a studio and obviously quite a bit of money for your samples and hardware.
This is unfair on the people starting out, you come here- obviously professional and by the looks and sounds of things you make a decent living out of music.

For example;
I'm 13 years old, I have been working as much as I can over the last year with school and exams - I started out with a Piano and i am now upgrading to semi-realistic orchestral music, by making music for games etc.

my point is, that your music is good, but too good. I don't think Newgrounds Audio is really the place for you.
Though if you reply to PMs and help others hoping to be as good as you, I suppose newgrounds audio would love to have a professional amongst us.

*sorry if I seem a bit angry xD (i'm not^^)

Big suprise for you here. I don't make a living off music? Why? Because I live in Portland, OR, and there is no real film/game music business here.

In able to "make it" I would 1. Have to move to LA or 2. Get lucky and get hired by an indie gaming company.

I've sent out emails offering work, but trust me, most gaming companies sometimes are looking for actual work on a resume, even if it's a small freeware project. No matter your talent, they want to see that you can, and will do the work, and not screw around. A resume to show this.

Hench...why I came to newgrounds. I need experience in the gaming industry, even if it's a small flash game.

Studio psh posh.

I for one think this is a tremendous piece. And take that as a large complement because my taste in music is score music from the massive array of big names in film.

The piece really kicks in and I love it. You've left me wanting more, and although you've left it short, you could have delivered so much more.

In my opinion this raises the bar here, in terms of composition and sound quality. I also agree with the fact a studio is anyone really with a high spec system. It's the knowledge of knowing how to use it to potential. People who give you a low mark for this stupid reason are being unreasonable. VOTE on the piece, NOT the fact he has a good system to work with.

If you ever have the time I would appreciate a low down on how you up your sound quality on your overall production.

nathanallenpinard responds:

Good comments. Thank you.

nice

dude its good but unfair becuase your against people who's peices are limited by there money, deication and a studio. lol good song tho im give a 6

nathanallenpinard responds:

A studio is a subjective term. Anyone with a computer and DAW software has a studio. I also have music that was not doing with heavy high quality samples, so possible I'll post those next time.

Dedication however, does play a big part.

good work.

i agree with Chronamut... not that you won't find good composers, just finding objective listeners. this particular song reminds me of Jesper Kyd's style, which is a good thing.
