Way too short
If you're going to call it Halo Shorts, then put in more than one. One ten second clip of a guy getting toasted does not constitute more than a single short.

Making a Halo series is not all the original anymore, as the game has been out of a while and we have seen a lot Halo-related flash. Enough infact to last a lifetime. You have to be original, and just have a plot in general that is interesting and entertaining. Having a character fire a gun at some weird alien creature is just not enough. This was fairly short, with little action and no real plot. The characters could use some improvements, especially the alien creature - just way to simple and bland. in future shorts, possibly add more to the plot and have a more elaborate concept. Good luck in your future movies and the upcoming shorts.

Umm....
I can say it's "kinda" funny, but I have been blown up by a lot of these plasma grenades numerous times that it just ain't.
PS - Plasma grenades stick by melting through your armour and skin. To pull out a plasma grenade would mean pulling bits of melted metal and skin.
Advice - Make it unexpected to be funny. Like Grunts and Elites playing baseball where the plasma grenades are baseballs and the sword is a bat.

Ah, but then again, I have an unfathomable hatred for halo 2...
