Reviews for "Driving Game Engine"

Decent

It was quite good for the size of it. Needs music really or car sounds to make it better. Steering was a little dodgy too.

it was ok...

...but not very good. Try again,But add music n better graphics

not bad

im not big on actionscrpit and i dunno how hard it would be, but when the view changes to the next segment the car should start in the same position as it was in when it left the last segment. so if you drive off the end of one screen at an angle, u shud enter the next at the same angle and position. other than that, the only thing i can think of is to reduce the friction. nice engine tho.

IWantSomeCookies responds:

yeah, that is quite hard to do.. well for me anyway. :D

Quite cool.

It's a nice engine, if you adapted this to a bigger scale, it would probobly be great. Quite nice.

It could also do with music, even if it was an engine.

LTK~

IWantSomeCookies responds:

Lol yeah, just an engine. When I look back now; its really rubbishly done.

If re-done now I could add in AI, and make the changes from the track level's to level much better. :)

Thanks for the review though LTK! Thankyou.

Suggestions

For a great example of a driving engine, you should try find Koala Clock's (Simon McClure's) CAR engine. It floats arround somewhere at clockcrewDotCoDotUkForwardslashSubliminal. You should be able to learn something from that.

Anyhow, a suggestion would be to make the car unable to turn when stationary. Last time I checked, cars didn't have a zero degree turning circle.

Let's see this implemented into a decent game now

hehe. but thats some hard actionscripting to do! xD
