Reviews for "Mr. D's Punch Out"

A few things...

Overall the game was fantastic. A great parody of a great NES game. But something bothered me, I noticed your comments to Wippit....I currently have no projects on Newgrounds and spend a lot of time reviewing other peoples work. I find some good things and some bad things but I am always honest with my reviews. Just because one chooses not to submit something to Newgrounds doesn't mean they aren't allow to vote on newgrounds. I have a feeling your comments were made just because he gave a unsatisfacotry review. Part of submitting a great movie or game means opening yourself up to the opinions of others. Think about it.

I do admit, that response was written in haste. However, i'm sure many of you can relate to the frustration involved when you dedicate a large amount of time to something and someone spends ten seconds destroying it. Since so many reviews have now been posted, however, I really am in appreciation of everyone at Newgrounds, creators or not, and hope that you post honestly, frequently, and proudly. Cacavolante, I thank you particularly for opening my eyes a bit. Keep it real for me.

Not Bad!

This was fun, and I can tell you put some effort into it, so that gets good ratings from me. Keep up the good work!

Actually, if you want to see something cool, try hitting The Great Hughes in the head just before she starts spinning around-- You'll get to see a secret move. It's a little cookie I threw in there (and an easy way to win the level).

its pretty damn good

I didn't find it that funny, however if I knew who the people in it were, I am sure I would have laughed my ass off. There are a few flaws, like some of the passwords don't work. The only one that worked for me was 13852, which brings your to the second circuit of people to fight. Aside form that its pretty good.

This was beautiful there was just so much good with this game.

So to start out, it lasts a whole 15-20 minutes, which is considerably longer than other games back in 2001. The story, while not intricate, stays simplistic and lighthearted, and ultimately is quite enjoyable. The animation was adorable, I loved the stop motion movement type thing you were going for. I also appreciated the password system for checkpoints.

It's obvious that this was made for your friends and teachers, just because you could, and I respect that. This was a quite a feat back then. However there were just a few flaws with it. The actual game play was lacking, as all you did was spam click on your opponent until their health bar depleted. This leads to a bit of a repetitive nature in the game. On top of that you couldn't click on the opponents when they were attacking, which was a little annoying.

Overall, good job, this was cute.

PS: nice "Tuck Hunt" reference at the end.
