Reviews for "The Lonely Reunion =HFX="

this issss sexy

I liked it all, everything flowed so smoothly from one innstrument to the next.

My only complaint is that this isn't a real orchestra and you can tell lol... SO if you could just hire a real orchestra to play this piece, I would jizz in my pants!

10/10, 5/5, great job

If you could come by and review "Copula" or "The Fall", that would be appreciated. Review for review! Thank you.

Awesome

Amazing piece of both music, and story. Loved the layout, and script. I could definitely see this in an animation.
Great play, and great use of instruments. Everything just felt good. Like it all fit together. You did a great job on this one Melody.
Damn proud of you :D hehe.

Love it,

I got shivers while listening to this.

And that's usually a failsafe indicator to me of a song's emotional quality. :) The sound of the string solo bothered me a little bit, but this composition, overall, is almost flawless. To me, it's almost harder to make a strong musical impact through simplicity than complexity-- you can wow someone with a ton of well-balanced layers, but to convey emotion and a story through music with simple piano chords and a well-driven ambient backing (and a glockenspiel/xylo? :P) takes a certain finesse. Did you manage that? Oh, yes.

I keep coming back to hear what you put out because you do have a certain talent, and this one's getting favorited. Keep up the great progress!

You had me scared at first when I read your review title - I thought it was that bad. :O
Of course, I felt much better after reading the review. >_>;

Someone else had also pointed out the violin's sound out to me. Indeed, it can be better. For a soundfont, I think that's as good as I'll get it probably. Maybe I can try modifying it a little.... now that I know more about envelopes. >_>; My friend suggested that I use the violin sounds from the EastWest orchestral pack. However mines doesn't work. x_x

As far as complexity, I'm a large fan of really well layered classical compositions such as DavidOrr's. However when it comes to my own compositions, it seems that I do best with simplicity. I guess it's because I like admiring the beauty in what are sometimes the most simplest things.

And you have a good ear! (Though that goes without saying by the quality of your singing...) :D Some people didn't even realize that I had an ambient "bell" sound in there until I told them about it and they realized that it was in there helping out with the song. And yes, it's a glockenspiel. I tried using tubular bells, vibraphones, xylophones, and marimbas. But somehow the glockenspiel is the only one that matched what I needed perfectly.

Thank you for the favorite and for the support. I really appreciate it, and I really am glad to hear that my music can be enjoyed by people. I'll be sure to bring more music as it comes and I hope I never disappoint you.

Heh, wow.

First of all, I want to say I truly admire the speed at which you come up with new songs. It's amazing, you compose a new piece like every two days.

To the song, it really reminded me of a certain Age of Empires II theme, where I'm picturing a small town with some villages in a snowy environment, with a few boars and deers. Although the composition is very different from that theme, the feeling it gets across is exactly the same, and that's a good thing. You put a lot of work into your compositions, and each and every one doesn't disappoint in the slightest. You have talent. If you keep on writing new compositions, and keep learning more (I heard you're not very good with the Osc :p), you can go far, and you will be known.

The story that goes with the song is great. You can really feel what's being told. Even if you hadn't written it down, people would've still known what it's about. The song tells the story.

I've put you down as a favorite artist, I'm looking forward to listening to some more of your work. :)

Thank you. I tend to have a lot of songs in my head at any point of time. However most of them are and remain as melodic snippets that are incomplete. That's because I use music to express my emotions, so I guess that's why it comes out that way.

I haven't played Age of Empires before, yet I have played Civilization before so I kind of have an idea of what you're talking about. I am certainly trying to learn more and try to improve. Yes... I've yet to master 3xOsc. I know the basics of how to use it right now, but it's far from mastery.

I put up the story so that people can read what I had visualized in my mind as I was writing the song. Of course, that is also why I wrote that if you wanted to come up with your own imagery, you didn't have to read my story. I'm glad that the song did carry the meaning well.

Thank you very much for the fav, and for your support.
