great classic revived!
ok i know its not much too look at, but come on its a classic! this is one of the first games to ever hit the general public like halo hits us today!
i admit the author could have done something alittle better to it... i dunno put a nice little spin on it, like some cooler ships special weapons, something.
the controls act nicely and dont hesitate.

Its a good way to get use to how flash works.. but things i like about space invaders that you havent included is that they speed up with the more you kill making the difficulty increase through the game, also slow down the shots from us they go a bit fast making timing the shots easy, and make it so the invaders destroy the barriers other wise you can hide there without any worries.. music is good but a bit repetitive with such a small file size i wouldnt mind a download that is around 200k just so i can have a little more music... you may want to make a new version of space invaders... say improve graphics and add some of your own ideas... such as making the guys shoot faster and allowing us to have weapon upgrades and shields with an energy bar. im not an expert with flash myself but i see you have now got examples of your work showing your not the average flash worker. i hope to see more.

Nice job It was a little slow and, the music was annoying. besides that, it was a good recreation.
