Reviews for "Punch Out: Chapter One"

Nice work, Angel!

Great stuff, man! I love the story. Punch Out... what a novel idea. I love how this thing follows the correct timeline, present tense in 2004, Prior coming back to the Cubs and all; nice tribute to the Cubs. ANYWAY, few things:

-Very, VERY GOOD sprite and sfx rips and edits, I especially liked the part when Mac and Carl are talking in jail.
-Gotta love the tribute to Urban Champ during the fight, when the cop comes by.
-Good choices for the music selection. I thought they complimented your movie well.
-I think the trainer's name is Doc, not Carl. Is it a tribute to his twin counterpart, Carl Winslow from the hit TV series Family Matters? =D
-The ending monologue when Little Mac is walking down the harbor goes by a little too fast -- you have to read fast sometimes to keep up with it. Same with the credits.

I really enjoyed working with you on this flash, giving you advice and all. I look forward to your future works!

AngelnX responds:

Thanks Patrick! I really appreciate your comments and everything. And thanks again for your help and suggestions. I will make the changes that still bothers this movie, and you can expect a second chapter! Thanks again!

WOW!

can't wait to see the rest!
Mac was set up! im telling you!

AngelnX responds:

Hey man! how did u know whats the next chaper about?? LOL actually man, the next chaper, Little Mac is gonna get setup by his trainer. Its gonna be pretty tight. Look forward to it soon, and thanks for your comments, i really appreciate it!

wow

that was awsome really

good movie on punch out are so rare

and u were able to pack so much time in a so little size

definetly great job I hope to see the rest soon

just like that how much time did it took you ?

AngelnX responds:

It only took me about a month. Little behind-the-scene fact. If you look at the date on the first newspeper in the beginning, you see "May 8, 1993" May 8 is when i started putting together the movie. Then on the second newspaper at the end, it said "June 3, 2004" which is the end date to the movie. Pretty cool huh? Hey i really appreciate the your comments, and Punch Out Chaper Two will be out soon. Look forward to it!

Cool piece of work.

I think it could've used a couple more jokes, for the most part it was a little too serious for me (I just can't take Punch-Out too serious, I love it for its humor), but it was quite a piece of work. If the follow-ups are as good, I hope this ends up in a collection.

You're probably going to hear this from now to infinity, but Little Mac's coach is actually called Doc Louis. I don't know if you purposely called him Carl ("Doc" could just be a nickname, after all), but just FYI.

AngelnX responds:

Oh yea i know his name is Doc Louis, but have you ever seen that show called Family Matters? The fat cop guy, Carl Winslow, thats what all our friends thought he looked like. But anyhoo, thanks for your comments, i really appreciate it. i just wish there werent any assholes giving this movie a zero just because for nothing ya know...

masterfully done

this is one of the best sprite movies ive seen on newgrounds. i cant list the parts i liked because, simply, the whole movie waqs freakin great. the sad part is that as im typing the movie only had a 3.03 score. this movie is definetly worth being in the top ten of all time. here's hoping that this one turns out to be a late bloomer.
