Reviews for "Valley of Dreams"

Breathtaking

I know that you are supposed to normally leave long detailed thoughts on these drawings but really bro that is beyond breathtaking! Congrats!

1600 responds:

Thanks!

Beyond words

no words can describe the complete awe im feeling. to see such art with such an unthinkable combination, for you to be inspired to draw this from a dream is just unbelievably amazing

1600 responds:

Thank you! :)

fuckin hell.

how long did this take and with fuckin mechanical pencil as well? fml, very good job here man. i couldnt have the patience to do something like this lol you did well on the light being cast over the scenery from the sun. great work!

1600 responds:

I originally intended to do it in markers, but then the sketch sat around for a few weeks and I hadn't done anything with it so then I penciled the foremost house and realized that it would work better in pencil. In all it probably took me around 11-12 hours spread out across a month. (I work really slowly)

awesome

i was wondering how you did the sky but when i saw you did it with a mechanical pencil i figured out how :P
anyway really nicely done with details even the water is amazing , i wish i could draw out of my imagination like this

1600 responds:

Thanks for the review! I actually had to do the sky in ten minutes because I had to get the picture to an art show in time.

This is amazing! It seriously looks like an old engraving! Do you even know what those are? There were made in the Middle Ages by people like Albert Duchter or however you say his name. This is just fantastic because it reminded me of classic art. Everything is so freaking realistic!

It's great to know that this was based on a dream. Sounds like a pretty realistic one. I just love the design of all the little trees. It must have taken forever to make them! It's really cool to see slanted houses like that too. 1600's a pretty nonstandard name.
