Hard as hell but still fun

That game was hard as hell - prices remained very stable, dammit! There were lots of times when I dumped my cargo and they still followed - THAT SUXORS! You should have made more price variation.

Too hard for a space captain!

Wow, this game is really awesome, I don't really know what to say, but I give it a 2 on violence because you don't really see pilots ejecting form the ships(or were those gun drones?), and second of all, I don't really know what strategy to use, should I buy triborium from New Terra and then sell it to Cerribus?(In my game, they are hardly any different in price) Or should I find a low price on rare goods and then sell it on a high price? Please help me, I need quad cannons and a class B frigate. What do you think?

Great game, but fix the glitch

There's a little glitch which enables you to get unlimited money right in the beginning of the game.. heh.. I completed it in under 2 min with that little glitch.

Haha

Way fun, and amazing that it's the first game ever made on NG!
It was way before it's time and should have been sold to the masses for $20 Each

Amazing Game!~

Wow! Good job with this, it was probably pretty hard to set up, you worked for these 5 stars.

This is very similar to a submission in 2000 called dealer, which was also based on an old trading style game, but with drugs. The problem with that one, was it was a little too easy once you figured it out. This really fixes that issue. The difficulty is intimidating to someone new to this game, even with the instructions you have to play a few times to figure it out. After you do figure it out though, it's just like real life, you have to get rich by mixing both preparation and opportunity. It requires a bit of luck to get anywhere, but hey that's life.

Throughout the game, you're desperately trying to find a balance while the pressure of debt catches up with you (from the 450 fine after a while from the tyrant.) The first part of the game is more about staying alive than getting anywhere. You're basically forced to sacrifice ship health in order to start off your money. While searching the galaxy you have to look for trade routes that work, and don't endanger you to pirates. You also have to find the balance between carrying items and having available guns.

As you progress the game starts to lighten up on you. It becomes less about survival and more about how much money you can make efficiently without going broke. After establishing a good pattern you can upgrade your ships, and start raking in cash. However if you're too greedy and don't give yourself enough to fall back on, you can very easily lose everything dropping cargo to pirates. After hard work and good strategy you finally get enough money to avenge your father, what a nice ending.

However, with all the positives there are some negatives. The save function didn't seem to work at all, I tried a few times before really getting into the game, and it seemed like I was getting no response from hitting the button. There are also a few other bugs stated in other comments that I feel don't affect the game that drastically, but are there none the less.

I think the more important flaw was how empty things felt, now for old flash, this is understandable with the limited space you have. If this were uploaded today though I'd take off half a star for lack of any interesting characters, and all the pirate ships being the same besides the final boss. I also felt that the pirate encounter system could use a little work and give a penalty for running and a higher accuracy rate. Or maybe make it a mini game so it takes skill into account rather than just luck.

Overall, it's a pretty great game on investments and risk taking. I enjoyed my time only after I got used to it (there should really be a tutorial of some kind), but still had fun despite that. The feeling of beating this game gave me quite the sense of accomplishment.

Great job Psycho! Hope your future games I play are as high quality as this one.
