This starts out like something I would expect from Final fantasy. You have the ambiance that makes you wonder, which I am placing as a dreamlike state before waking. When the beat kicks in, I am guessing that's when you are woken up to find that you wake up to find yourself trapped and surrounded by fire. From their, you switch to an ambient feel again of what I can guess is realization of the fact you are trapped, followed by a more intense beat of trying to escape. Once that beat fades in, that is the realization of no escape and the wondering of you will be remembered. The rest is the burning of all life fleeing the body.
OK, I may be off on a few things, but that's the way I feel this song goes. I personally relate to it as drowning, really, as that's the feeling I get most days in my life when I feel a bit emo. Another relation is another character of mine who is a shape-shifter, but cannot transform at will, but transforms at the whim of others, under certain influences, shall we say. In any case, this song definitely puts some inspiration in me that is always a constant. A very good job in an epic mix of Ambient 8-bit and Drum and Base.
