Reviews for "Fantastic Realm Chapter 1"

umm no ffence but i didnt like it that much!

the voices were hard to hear but atleast u could har them, and the the boy looked like he had issues! his teeth hang right out!

Good, but flawed.

Well, I can`t say I didn`t like this. I mean, the animation was really clean, and it was a fresh breathe from the normal Flash art you see these days. But since this is a cartoon, where not only the music but the sounds are really important, I somewhat can`t help feel a little disappointed.. The voices were horrible. Way too low, and way too "blurry". That`s something you need to fix on. I didn`t get half of what they were saying. And the acting could be better, but I understand how difficult it is to get that to work... Anyways, I hope Chapter 2 is better on the voice part, because if it is, I`ll be sure to watch this one CLOSELY :)

I have to agree with some of these people...

This is wonderfully animated and the music was really cool, I enjoyed that part of it. BUT...the story went WAY too slow to even enjoy it and you could barely hear their voices. They were very low, dull, and had very little character in them whatsoever. Also it seemed that the jokes went too slow to really consider them funny.

I know you guys put a lot of work into this..I could tell by the way it was done, it was practically like a regular cartoon. But I would suggest to speed the excitement and jokes up a bit more, as well as make the voices louder and have more character and feeling to them. Because that is what "killed" the film in general. Opening flash or not, if you want to do something, you should do it right all the way. ;)

Still a good shot none the less...I would honestly like to see more in the future with these major improvements to the peice. Only then will it really be complete. You do in fact, have a winner here...you just got a few adjustments to make.

Good Potential

Ok, I'll just break everything down.
Graphics - 8: Well drawn for the most part, but the the flaws lie in the animation itself. The walk of the characters is a bit unnatural. Also, this made you lose on both sound and animation, the voice over is off, by an obvious ammount.

Sound - 9: the only thing that stopped you from a ten here was the voice over being off and the volume of the voices. It needs to be adjusted, I can barely hear the girl, while the other two characters come out very loud.

Style - 7: Obviously it has certain feels to it, the music especially made me think of more recent zelda games, but still well done.

Overall - 7: (I figured the other categories were self explanatory) On top of the comments i've already given, you're overall score was docked to 7 (a four on vote scale) because of the lack of a story at the moment. If you're going to release something in installments you have to at least establish some sort of story to keep people coming back, even if it's not the main one, a story of some sort, side or otherwise, needs to be established.

It's kind of a shame....

I'm giving you a score that's maybe harsher than deserved, but it's such a shame that an animation with such amazing art is bogged down so much by lack of everything else.

The graphics are fantastic, but there's nothing I hate more than a serious or high-quality movie with horrible (truly horrible) voice acting. I understand that this is just a flash movie and your resources were probably limited; but in this case, I would've much rather read subtitles than listen to that awful VA'ing.

As far as the story goes, I know it's just the beginning, but I already find myself terribly uninterested and sick of the two main characters (especially the girl with the shitty voice acting).

Whoever the artist is on this movie should drop the rest of the participants and find some skilled partners. I love the artwork and would love to see that talent applied to what could be an exceptional animation (flash or otherwise).

Realmguys responds:

Yes... we are limited in resources. The voice actors of this cartoon happen to be the artists themselves. So dropping them might prove stupid. Thanks anyway SpaceButler.
