Why did it take e-drama to find this?
Much better than I was expecting from what I initially saw.
I've never been much of one for the Zero themes in long doses- X1's has no meat, X2's is epic but brief, and X3's is a bit more solid, if still too repetitive. That's probably why it seems like anyone remixing one sticks to the X4 + themes, given they're a lot easier to drone away with some generic electronica garbage. Or, as that one lad from OCRemix did, combine the SNES three, which still manages to get boring after you exhaust the three main melodies.
So yes, imagine my surprise after hearing this initially as a short loop of dubious origin!
A theme that always seems to play when you're watching someone kick ass or getting yours kicked deserves an epic treatment, and you've certainly done her justice. Drums sound a little flat, then again, coming out of an attempt at hip-hop I might just be adjusting still. Guitar, stylistically, is damn good. This is probably something everyone else has known already, then again, this is the first time I've heard of you, so I wasn't expecting anything at this level. Sounds extremely clean, too, which is not something I anticipate by default.
What's really impressive is that you manage to keep it from getting stale. Not having really any sub-melodies or variants in the original, and having a pretty basic chord progression, keeping this exciting should be a feat- but it doesn't ever lose the listener. No cheating, no bringing in a Wily Castle theme to give you something else easier to expand on- just takes this one everywhere it can be taken while sounding professional the entire way through.
I'm definitely keeping an eye on you from here on out, and best of luck with the thief.
