If it wasn't for this excellent plot and storyline, it would still be fairly good, though your art needs some improvement. It would have been nice if you added a pause button too.

For a series-opener, great work. Characters, story, music: it all makes me want to keep watching the series.
The art style and animation seems a little rough around the edges, but it's understandable seeing as how this is an older piece of work.
