Reviews for "Silver Memory(featuring Hania)"

Stuttering

First of all this is a great song and I love Hania's voice but I'm wondering about one thing. At 2:14 the song seems to stutter and I was wondering if that is suppose to happen or if there was some fault in the recording.

Either way this is a great song and you should feel really proud of it.

Kaburorne responds:

Oh yeah, that is supposed to happen. Thanks for commenting and rating :)

Shiny!

I think this song is beautiful.

I especially like the flowing melody with Hania's siren song pulling you in, and then the fade out at the end. I loved the part leading up to and including 1:38; that fade out and then quick fade in works well to capture the listener.

In my opinion this song has a couple _possible_ weak parts. The first one is the very beginning of the intro. In the beginning it makes the song sound like a different genre than it ends up being. I wouldn't have mentioned it but someone else did and I guess it's not just me.

The second part begins around 2:25. It's those weird distortion effect. It's interesting but I think you have to keep in mind that the song is silky and this part is very jagged. It's a tricky transition and you need to be careful with it. At 3:54 you use it very well.

I hope something I wrote gives you food for thought. This song is definetly a 10/10.

Can you post the lyrics? Here's what I got:

(can't make out the intro)

Once upon a time is the start
On a planet hidden deep in the stars
There's a young boy waiting -- transcending parts
Of silver memories

Ships arrived with the army of doom
All the years his screaming that'll end pretty soon
Now he waits for something -- hope in his heart
and silver memories

He remembers his friends and his family
How they laughed as they played
He remembers his dreams and realities
As he sits and he waits (waits, waits, waits)

Once upon a time is the start
There's no happy ending this final part
Can you hear the pain beating in his heart
Can you see his silver falling apart?

Once upon a time is the start
On a planet hidden deep in the stars
There's a young boy waiting -- transcending parts
Of silver memories

Once upon a time is the start
There's no happy ending this final part
Can you hear the pain beating in his heart
Can you see his silver falling apart?
Can you see his silver falling apart?
His silver memories...

By the way, I think I love Hania. Silver memories? That's so clever -- because silver tarnishes and so do memories...in time...it's so poetic.

Kaburorne responds:

I think I agree with you on the intro. I wasn't too sure about the actual direction of the mix until about 1/3 of the way through production- I just kind of... let it flow, so I wasn't too sure exactly it was supposed to be, so yeah, I think you're right there.
Hmm... looking back, those glitchy effects do sound quite out of place. It was a fairly new plugin so I guess I was going a bit crazy with it. I guess I should have put in some variations, but not as harsh.
"I hope something I wrote gives you food for thought." Indeed it does! Thanks for the in-depth comment!
I've also edited into my comment on the track a link to Hania's original news post regarding Silver Memory, where people could find the lyrics and meaning.
Thanks again ^^

Up there.

The intro didn't really grab my attention, and the lyrics weren't awesome, but i think it deserves the 8.

Kaburorne responds:

Firstly, thanks for being honest.
But, I wanted a dreamy intro, then it just hits you. And not my own lyrics- can't blame me for that :P Tis on a remix.

...wow

This is... Great Lyrics (and voice that sings them), and also Great music to go with it. It is like proffesional songs that I hear, only a bjillion times better if not a bswillion (yes they are real numbers).
I most definatly will be looking out for your songs in the future

Dude

You get my 5.
