Reviews for "=Snowboard Kids: Hidden Track="

Very apt

This tune really does remind me of some of the wintery games I used to play on various platforms during my childhood. Not exactly the sort of tune I'd expect for an 'SSX' style game, but really simple and well performed.

Was this done by a keyboard plugged into your computer, or by digital music generator? If it was performed by hand, I'd even more impressed by this, as while the tune is relatively simple and repeats frequently, it certainly takes some skill to play.

I can certainly imagine someone out there in NG grabbing this tune and adding it to a wintery Snowboarding game for the children (arond age 5-8), it's perfect for just that purpose, so long as there aren't any jumps with massive tricks, or nasty things like the Yeti to come and eat them.

Hehe, thanks for the review.
Sorry to disappoint you, but it was all done digitally. I'm glad you find it fitting for that kids winter game genre (it means I got that right =P).
Cheers.

Nice & Old School

Really like retro gaming music, and that was a very nice piece. Using the same melody over again is a good thing in game music, makes it easy to loop.

But this like most gaming music got annoying after a while, but still can't please everyone.

This did evoke thoughts of an endless retro ski slope & could see it in a game of such.

WritersBlock responds:

Yeah, 8-bit's not for everyone, and this isn't the shortest of pieces, so I totally understand where you're coming from.
Thanks for the review.

Very Upbeat

It sounds pretty fast and energetic even at the start, not sure if that's a good thing or not but it does sound good, kind of like an old game for a gameboy or something, kind of like a town background beat or something. It does seem to sound a little repetative after a while, maybe some veriation would be cool to add in this but eh.

The ending seems like it would be sudden but it does end in kind of a quieting down way, which is good but maybe have it open like that too. Just my opinion but still, pretty good overall :)

5/5

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks for the review. Yeah, repetitiveness is the major issue. I'm glad you like the ending.
Cheers.

Good flow.

Can't sit and listen to it though, this makes me want to punch and rape ppl lol..

(title in work)

I like the music. It's got a quick and happy pace to it, which I think is pretty fun to listen to now an again. The only thing I didn't really like was the quality of the audio. It sounded compressed quite a bit and sounded really grainy to me. Made it kind of annoying to listen to this.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks for reviewing. I did this in 8-bit style, which is probably why you find it annoying. I'm thinking of remaking it, with less of the 8 bit sound.

Cheers
