Reviews for "Journey of a Kite"

Great

The bass has a great slappy sound, though some major eqing could have made it sound deeper and fatter than it is- but I know that's hardly possible. Guitar is great (though the texture of it doesn't sound absolutely perfect- but that's nitpicking). Piano has a lot of variation, which is lovely and basically what keeps the song going in for example most of the second minute. Along with the drums of course- so- did ya program that, or play it real life? Ever how you did it, it was done greatly. One thing though- the constant stream of breaks and bridges, buildups and so; it makes the song sound generally quite empty- so some extra instrumentation between parts- I don't know, woodwinds, orchestrals, countermelodies to guitars or whatever- would make it more of my liking.

But it's still great as is, and you get my five.

jnry3 responds:

Thanks for the five! ^_^

Everything in this track is programmed, from the instruments (piano, guitar, bass, and drums) to the panning and EQ.

Hmm... methinks it's crowded the way it is, but orchestrals (I'm thinking strings) would be a nice addition. Gonna figure out how that will fit, though.

Again, thanks a lot for your review! ^_^

real nice

i really feel like i'm the kite flying through the air. one down side is some times the piano part get over shadow by other instrument. i think the piano part is the soul of the music so turn that up a-bit?

jnry3 responds:

Hmm... I did pan the instruments at ~65% on each side, but I'll check it again (sounds fine to me, though).

Check if you have stereo output. If there's still a problem, send me a PM. Thanks! ^_^

Woah

Amazing stuff! So much variation, detail, so fast. Lots of work and talent put into this it seems. It's one of the best piano pieces I've ever heard. Keep up the good work!

Hey thanks! Haven't heard from you in a while. ^_^ Glad you reviewed this track (as well as "I Shouldn't Fall (In Love)" a few weeks ago).

Thanks for the compliments!

WOAH

havent heard of anything like this before and it sounded really cool!!!! very good!!

jnry3 responds:

Hey thanks! ^_^

too fast!

I like the tempo changes, reminds me of classical music. in fact, this song reminds me of classical music for many reasons. Although, in one part, you kinda went to mach speed or something, and it sounded like you lost control of the music and kind went wild.still didnt sound shabby though. good work, id like to see more good work from you guys soon.

jnry3 responds:

The tempo of the entire song is set to 115 BPMs, even during the "wild" parts. It just played at 1/32, but yeah, it got "wild" or "energetic". (Although it's in control, hehe.)

Thanks for your review and opinion! ^_^
