-If the game is lagging, try right clicking and selecting "low" quality. It shouldn't change anything visually, but it will most probably cause the game to run smoother.
-To reset your save, press "r" while in the Title Screen.
-Mute the music with "m" (if the game is not paused).
Alright. So this is my submission for the Ludum Dare 29 Jam, with the theme "Beneath the Surface".
You can view the LD page here:
The game is pretty simple, but not necessarily easy. Here are some instructions:
You can jump between the white and the black dimension by using either "z" & "x", or the left and the right arrow keys.
Pause with "p", restart a level with "r".
You can also return to the title by pressing "t", when the game is paused.
Everything is made by me, including the music, and even the art, if one can call it that. I used a program called "Stencyl" to make this game.
This is in no way a unique or super original game. A better, but visually and functionally similar (puzzle) game is SHIFT: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/422855
(there're several sequels ;).
Clever theme & beautiful music.
Thank you! I'm glad to see you took a look at one of my older works :)
gad doomit.. So Good Damn Difficult...
Did not like the secret medal. Even though I got it. I tried turning up the brightness on my screen to no effect. Just pushing random buttons. Bad ending that way, just in my opinion.
So anyways, yeah 4/5
Heyy, I didn't expect any more reviews on this :D
Well done with getting all the medals ;)
Yeah, I know. Putting that medal there was kind of a d*ck move, as the game is already pretty difficult; sorry for that...
Thanks for playing, for the review, and for the stars :3
You are merciless in this game, just as difficult as D-pression but the good thing is I didn't need a walk-through as the other which was satisfying. The music really gives the environment. And please be more merciful in your other projects xD. Nice game though I enjoyed it to the point of getting the 3 medals.
Whoah! Good job getting the secret medal! Not even 1% get that ;)
I know, I always seem to make my games too difficult... I WILL TRY to do better in the Construct 2 Jam. I need to come up with a good game idea first though...
Thanks a lot for playing through the entire game, and for leaving a review! :3
Rip-Off (yes, I read the description) -1
3.5 (If neutral rating is 2.5)
Hi! I'm glad you like the music and the simplicity. I'm not sure if I would go far enough as saying this is a rip-off hahha :p If there were only fully original games, at most 0,5% (if even that) of the games that can be played at the moment would even exist XD
This is, as I stated, similar to SHIFT. Still, there are several differences, but oh well.
Some people have also enjoyed the fact that it was difficult, but many have not liked it. It's interesting that you give a "+" for saying that it's short. You know, most people would see that as negative. I know that short games are sometimes a good way to spend time without devouting oneself further. Giving plus points to a game is almost like saying you're happy you didn't have to play the game any longer though, which I would view as a negative XD
Thanks for your interesting review!
Ok, I like this! :D Yeah, I'll agree, it's not as elaborate or creative as D-Pression, but it's a cool idea with a cyclical frustration-addiction quality. Nice work! ;)
Thanks for the reivew, which pretty much sums up most of the game XD
While D-Pression was more of a puzzle game, this is mostly performance based :p
I did make it too difficult again though...
An epic, colorful and fast-paced arcade game
