My latest homage to that ol' grey tub of nerdjoy. This is basically just a little tribute to all those hard as nails action platformers we all know from the NES era. Finished the game in about a week, however I held off uploading to Newgrounds because of the Halloweeny stuff. In that time I actually made an extra hardcore level. Mhaha.

It's hard, it's unforgiving, it's 8-bit. Get used to it. I've even put up a little disclaimer just in case you can't handle it. If this is the case, go play the latest COD game or something.

Blast through six levels, (30+ "blocks/areas") collect retro power ups, unlock medals and upload your high scores to Newgrounds!

The controls can be changed in the OPTIONS menu. Default they be:

L/R Arrows: Move
A: Fire
S: Jump
+/- Keys: Change Volume
Enter: Start/Pause

Hope you enjoy it, it was a blast to make :P.

I am no 90's kid, never played an NES but the Angry Video Game Nerd has taught me, when it's nintendo hard you need to put away those xbox and playstation controllers because these games are no walk in the park. I always knew the nintendo hard meant you will play for hours, like dark souls and lose. But when you win, it's the most satisfying thing ever. You don't blaze in like call of duty and tank shots, you inch along with your ammo and guns like contra watching yourself in every direction. It isn't one hit death but it is no CoD. Your health doesn't regen. You want more health, don't hide there you gotta run for that health power up and run while you can
Great game
