Reviews for "Alien Splatter"

lovin the old NES style work. Not kidding about the hard difficulty. 4d made me rage hard

SinclairStrange responds:

Oh 4d, that was my troll level. Eep sorry about that!

Great game, but I broke it. I killed the first boss just as he was about to fire a shot from the bottom left (the triple shot) but I didn't carry on to the next level or whatever comes after. The timer is stopped

SinclairStrange responds:

How odd? I couldn't re-create the bug :S. Other than that, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

I really enjoyed this game. The graphics and audio are a perfect replication of games from the NES era. The controls are really tight and I knew that if I got hit or died that it was my fault. I wish I could say that I beat the game, but I didn't, yet. I got to the fourth level (the one with the moving crates and such) and had a blast doing it.

I've only got a couple of complaints. One was that the character didn't move when standing on a crate that were moving. I've seen games do this before, but dang does it always throw off my timing for jumps. I'm not saying its anything game breaking by any means, it just bugged me personally. The other was that some enemies in Level four would deviate from paths at what I could only figure as random. Occasionally I would come across enemies during the conveyor belt sections that would fall in the fire below some of the time and other times they would jump onto the next conveyor belt. This made it dang near impossible to do that section from memory. Still, these are both really small complaints for a really great game.

To those that are complaining about the difficulty. You were forewarned. If you didn't want a challenge then you could have chosen not to play the game. There is a difference between a game that is hard because its game play has faults and one that it is just hard. Learn the difference and rate accordingly.

Kudos to you Sinclairian. This is a great game.

SinclairStrange responds:

Aye, the box in stage four, I was actually going to change that so you moved with it but I can't remember why I decided against it. I think I played a NES game that didn't make you move so I kept it as it was. If you mean the running guys, it usually changed a little, depending on the animation cycle they were on. In hindsight I should of moved them to a place where they couldn't change.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game, next time I release a game like this, I'll hopefully iron out all the little bugs. :)

Shit I can't even handle this game

SinclairStrange responds:

Damn, I'm sorry :P.

not NES hard i can tell because im not ripping my hair out in a fit of rage but all in all very fun and well done good work!

SinclairStrange responds:

You shouldn't play the later levels then :P. Hehe.
