Create your own fortune. Travel the land seeking to destroy the Buccaneers, an evil pirate organization bent on being outlaws... or join the Enforcers to help stop them and bring piece to the land! You decide, you build your fate, and in the end you choose the path you want to take and how to get there.

Frontier is a non-traditional RPG, taking mostly the form of an economics game... but in the sense that you're not set on a linear path to go destroy certain enemies or collect items. Your job is to survive, earn money, and do as you please. Destroy the Buccaneers or take down an entire city for your taking. Join the Enforcers and battle it out with some mercenaries to become true evil.

50 different cities beckon your trade and visit, each located in 10 unique environments and place. Each offers new financial opportunity or guild headquarters to find more purpose in your worldly pursuits.

"stylish"

An original and stylish game. Not my sort of game, but I wont count that on my review, since everyone likes another style. I must say, the concept is very original, and your big freedom is a good fact. I would give it a ten, if it wouldnt get a bit boring after a while to repeatidly buy and sell goods. Not my style, but a good game.
Sorry for my bad english.

Armor games, I wanna be honest here, Im really a fan of your work. You constantly produce/sponsor quality games and this is no exception. This game gets 4/5 for the grounds votes and 8/10 stars for a few reasons.
Overall Feel of the game(2/2)- Perfect job, very fun to play (the first time), and addicting
Music(1/2)- One of the weakpoints of this game, the music is very dissapointing, I was expecting better, and i basically muted the game
Gameplay(2/2)- Great gameplay, reminds me of tradewinds, could be expanded on look forward to the sequel
Progging(2/2)- Armorgames has a rep for bug free games, and this stays with that rep
Replay value(1/2)- once you beat it theres no real reason to return, Ive played the game to its fullest and dought I will play it again

"Not my thing"

But that does not stop me from giving it a healthy review. It does indeed have bugs. Some of the text seemed a bit out of whack. The detail is there, though, and the actual result is brilliant. I cannot help but nod in surprise at this excellent piece.

Again, it's not my kind of game. But it is very well done nevertheless.

"A good game with a few issues"

date: November 15, 2009

I would have given this a perfect 10/10 if not for the bugs in the game. On more than one occasion, I have not been healed in a town. I got stuck outside a town, with the distance reading NaN and my cursor flailing around wildly on the map right over where the town was...yet i didnt enter it. The entire travel interface once disappeared when I tried to continue on after a fight.

All that being said, it really is a fun game. With a bit more spit and polish, it could even be a great game.

One final final note: Try and tone down the randomness of encounters a bit. Running into a 5-man vanguard early on and failing at fleeing 3 times in a row is pretty lame.

Great game, but after a couple of minutes there is a extreme amount of lag i think its my computer since my a bit jacked up, but JUST putting out there. If you decide to make another one add nations and ability to do something to cities you own
