UPDATION:
Behind on reviews, and behind on sending music to people. My excuses are year 12 math tests and dialup internet. I'll get back into it tomorrow (:

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: Ugh I'm trying to keep up with reviews, I swear! You'll all get answered in the end, don't worry x3
EDIT EDIT EDIT: Sorry about the ads. They're only while the game loads, but if they're that much of an issue, I'll filter them again.
EDIT EDIT: Frontpaged! You rock, Tom! Thanks NG crew! <333
EDIT: Daily second - Thanks newgrounds!

Build as high and as fast as you can in this physics-based tower building game, complete with an original streaming soundtrack.

(I answer all reviews)

Extra Controls:
Shift+click - delete pylons
Space - freeze time (if you have a full special meter)
P - toggle pause game
M - mute in-game music (if there's any streaming at the moment)
S - Shuffle playlist

FAQ:

Q: Will there be a sequel?
A: Yes!

Q: Can I have the music?
A: Pm me.

Q: I hate the music!
A: Mute it. You're welcome to play your own music in the background.

Q: Can I have a wider base?
A: Yes. Build outwards. Pylons connected to the foundations are 5 times stronger than other pylons, so you can safely build outwards from the base. I would suggest you build up in two triangles, then out.

Q: Why can I join further than I can build new pylons?
A: Because otherwise, you wouldn't be able to make a straight tower. The maximum length of the join must be at least the hypotenuse of the right triangle made by the distance between the foundation points and the maximum length of a new pylon.

Q: Isn't this like Tower of Goo?
A: I wouldn't know, I haven't played it. I do know that's not a flash game, however.

Q: Isn't this like Bridge Builder?
A: Once again, I haven't played it, but I don't see any trains in this game.

Q: Pontifex?
A: Whut?

Glad you enjoyed it C:

I can't really do anything about the highscores, they're provided by the sponsor, not me.

On the plus side, their system only holds 1000 scores at a time, and deletes by age, regardless of rank, so it won't be long before his score is cleaned up.

"A Modest Proposal"

This game is awesome, and all other peoples suggestions aside (though I like them and you should do them) I would like it if when the tower is collapsing it would zoom out so you could see the whole thing breaking and what not. Also, if only half the building falls down it'd be nice if you could continue using the sturdy foundation but as a result you lose the points from what fell. I'm thinking about this because my building just broke in half but the foundation was still strong and it took me like a really long time to build. All that work going to waste was a major bummer lol.

Anyways, great game and I can't wait for the sequel.

Author's Response:

Yeah, the reason we can't zoom out here is because the background is only as wide as the screen. In the sequel, I plan on having a wider screen so that you can zoom out.

Continuing will be possible as well :D

"This game is amazing!!"

There are a few things I don't like though.
1: When I delete a beam, if one falls, it counts as a tower failure.
2: There is no "Sandbox" mode - it would be cool if there was a mode that let you rebuild off the ruins of a collapsed tower (if the tower falls, then a tower can be built using the fallen tower as a foundation), or reset it so that you'd have a clean slate to practice.
3: There should be a warning sound or something to alert you to dangerous stresses on the beams.
4: A "Speed" button or something. As in, when there is a beam that is under dangerous levels of stress, it is horrible to not be able to reach the danger zone fast enough. So your tower basically just starts sinking on the screen, and one can't get to the breach fast enough to repair it.

Other than that though, this game is teh rawkzorz!

Author's Response:

1) I'm not happy with the tower collapsing system either. If I had've given more thought to the game-ending criteria, they would've been different.

2) I know, I know, there will be in the sequel.

3) That too.

4) Yeah, I went for aesthetics over playability with the camera movement, and I regret it. I can't remember if I hardcoded the easing or not, but if I didn't, I'll change it.

Thanks for your review and score!

"It's alright"

by: jopppe

The game is okay, but the author is full of crap when he claims that he has not played Tower of Goo. This is clearly a 100% rip-off of that game. There's just no way that would've happened by chance. I think creating a clone is alright, if proper credit is given, but I just don't like lying bastards.

April 26, 2008

Author's Response:

Actually, a few weeks back, I did download tower of goo, just to see what all the fuss was about. You're all retarded. The building mechanic is completely different, the tower can't break, there's no scores. It's just an engine demo, and it's written in a different language for a different distribution system.

Now, as for you. You contribute nothing. If your idea of productive activity is talking down to the people who provide you with free entertainment, please feel free to eat shit and die.

I think leaving scathing reviews is alright, as long as you have half a brain and actually research your facts, but I just don't like useless cuntrags.
