Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

This has been the most difficult film I have ever made, because its meaning is very true to my soul. For too much of my life I have been a mindless consumer of time. Hopelessly placing value in things that never gave an ounce of value back. Now that I am older, I worry endlessly that this new generation is making the same mistakes I now deeply regret.

In the end, I hope my message is honest and clear. Whether you agree with me or not, please share you thoughts, spark meaningful discussions, and share this film with everyone you know.

Special thanks to all those who have been my strength - and to all of you for taking a moment to open your minds =)

shit man

After my computer broke down for a week and being without world of warcrack and anything else that wasn't real people, i had nothing. No one to hang with except the women whenever she wasn't working, and over the years i've been slowly going in the same direction with the weight and no sleep and such.
After having no computer for that week, i started thinking of how much i miss being outside and around people.
Video games may not fuck up everyones life but they sure have fucked up mine.
Gratz on the movie mate.

Dude, sweet

I gotta say man, I'm 17 and most of my teenage life was on vidoe games from 13-16 I spent 8 to 10 hours playing games. And I gotta say I regret dam near every minute. I'm just glad some one with the skill said something about what games can do.

This is good

This isn't the first video, book, or rant making your point, but I must say it's the first one I've seen that's been done well. Kudos to you who's been willing to come out and say it, it really brings out the point a lot better than someone who doesn't really know about the gaming world.

Of course, video games aren't the only activity to which this video's principles can be applied. Sports and Hollywood idols are two more things that come to mind which people can spend their whole lives watching and paying attention to, either forging or destroying relationships.

I think that this phenomenon might be changing slightly, though, as far as games are concerned. Many recent games have encouraged creativity, not just challenge. More importantly, games are much easier to create than they used to be, and as people are able to take the time to experiment with their game design instead of simply following the crowd, new and interesting things can come out of the mix - take a look around Newgrounds (I'll call attention to Aether and the Color My World series, for starters). Can games perhaps become more worthwhile if they evolve into a form of art and self-expression of the game's creators? And is their any form of art or storytelling more powerful than the kind that puts you into the shoes of the characters? Perhaps the creation of games will become a form of communication and inspiration in the future... who knows?

Absoultly amazing!

This hass to be one of the greatest things that i have seen on newgrounds. I came to this realization as well, after i realized that i had 26 days of play time on my world of warcraft accound i realized that i was wasing my time. I still play video games, but i am now aware of my time consumption and have found a nice balance

A bit hypocritical

Ok, so you seem to give the advice that reading books is better than playing an online game.
Humans love to venture into other worlds, because the real one itself is boring 24/7. That's why we created medias and arts. Movies, books, games etc. in the end are all the same. They exist to have us create other worlds in our own minds.
You can get addicted to everything that lets you forget your everyday problems.
Wether the substitute for your problems you don't want to face or can't even solve is in a virtual space inside a computer network, or found in a TV series that you start to have an obsession with doesnt matter.
It's all a matter of how much time you dedicate to what you want to do.

People who never had a philosophy class at university might not think of this and will go "wow, you're so right !" after seeing your movie. But, tbh, you're wrong.

Also, who are you to judge what is better and what is worse ?
What are you going to tell hermits that don't have any intention of having contact with society ? Do they live a worse life than me, because I know a few people, go poker at a friends house and meet people at university ? I doubt it.

Nice intention, trying to say that you want to make more out of their lifes than they might do right now, but the "argumentation" is very lacking.
