Of the top 5 B/Pers who remain active, I'm still 3rd on this week's list. The problem is that I'm a whole 77,000 B/P behind Afro_Stud. I mean, this guy had a massive hissy fit at the moderators years ago and was too dumb to completely quit Newgrounds back then. I'm closing in on him by roughly 8 points per day, which is only approximately 3,000 per year. At this pace, I'll catch him in 25 years, i.e. when I'm nearly 55 years old!
I seriously hope you won't even think I'll try and look that far in the future for Newgrounds.

Yeah. I've always wondered why he still bothers with BP'ing, but never does anything else around the site anymore. I know he had this fight with the mods which made him leave the BBS and I can imagine that he just wanted to keep his number 1 spot, but there can't be that much fun in checking the portal regularly every day for years on end. I mean, there are more fun things to do on NG and better things to do IRL.
Trust me, I tried asking him the exact same questions years back when I was still talking to him on a regular basis. If his griefs from the site haven't caused him to leave a few years ago, I don't know what will at this point. If any other person had grief from the admins, they would have been put off long ago. Look at some users like D0GMA and ShittyKitty who both had their interest in this site killed off after the incident in 2005. Only rarely they posted on the BBS after that.
I'm just grateful I've had the better side of the admins as I've been on this site for a very long time and would hate to be put off due to a rough experience I've had on here. I hate to bring this up in an egotistical manner but if I won User of the Year which the admins, particularly Tom Fulp himself decided on, then I know I did good for the site. I don't know how long my interest in the site can stay for but I'll do what I can.
Sorry, I went in a bit of a tangent there.

also italics. woop woop.
Five years was enough B/P'ing for me. Well, three and a half years with some months where I did work my way to the retirement number if you want to be very specific. The relief of not having to check the portal all the time for new submissions allows me to do other things in my free time with ease. Others are clearly more dedicated than I am and when I feel collecting B/P became a chore after doing it for three years straight, do any of you question me for still maintaining these lists years after I made my initial retirement (i.e. 70,000)?

Afro_Stud has held the #1 spot for way longer than anyone else in NG history -for that reason I am rooting for someone to overtake him.
I try to not put a bad spotlight on the guy but I wish we do get a #1 B/P user who shows true dedication to the site. I personally prefer a user that shows passion to the site which is why the times when users such as ramagi and Denvish were on the throne, the community was happy for them. Now, it feels like less of a big deal as to who is #1 these days and it's felt this way for a while now.
I hope you don't take any offence Afro, this is just my input on the matter.

Must be nice to have a job that allows you to fuck around on the internet.
I'm sure it is but I'd much rather focus on working. When I worked at the school, not once did I dare to type down the name Newgrounds onto the address bar. However, with a smartphone now, I can check on my daily internet shit during lunch break if I was in employment.
