The oldies are just used to classical music, usually the most melodically diverse music genre out there. And electronic is sometimes repetitive in melody...

I don't think this thread is getting at the big picture... Hardly ANYBODY "gets" electronica music. Outside of say, the UK, the population of people who really listen to and respect electronica is very very small. But isn't it more special that way? Keep it underground!

The BBC Radiophonic workshop played a huge role in the development of electronic music and sound didn't they? Who can forget the glory of the Dr Who theme. Looks like they're stil going strong.

I pick up the BBC on my spaceships tv, just listening to adverts on british tv they use loads of Warp records artists music and glitched up electronica, especially on car ads.
