Alot of skaters have been listening to rap since the 90's, it's not new. Actually, alot of the best skaters listen to rap. (i.e. Brandon Biebel, Paul Rodriguez, Chad Muska, etc.) Skating hasn't really changed that much, unless you skated back in the 70's or 80's. Also, skating has no rules and no requirements of what kind of music you listen to or how you dress.

Skater kids usually dont listen to Pennywise, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, or The Ramones... Thats for REAL PUNKS... You my friend are a dumbass, skaters listen to rap while they skate because of the beat... Dont put anything down unless you fully understand it...

I personally like all genres of music except for country and most bluegrass... When it comes to a competition in any extreme sport i like to preform while listening to classical or dance (dunno why)... When i skate by myself i like to listen to all genres of metal, when i bmx its ska and punk, and when i inline skate its all about the rap...

I've recently been having to make due with skipping CD players and some of my older CD's after I accidentially smashed my iPod after I fell directly on it. Hopefully I can find the warranty soon, but damn, CD players are hard to skate with, they're so bulky and i can barely fit them into my pocket. >_<

I like skating or biking when there are speakers set up, especially at the skate park near my house... I say this because CD players and even iPods are a bitch to carry around while skating or biking (for me at least)...

yeh my creative zen is such a slut when i carry it with me im at the skatepark and one minor fuck up leads to $400 down the drain! i havent got warranty on it anymore because i used it already since my last stack when i tried 360 kick flipin a 5 set of stairs
