Okay, So I always browse the Audio Portal seeing incredibly well done pieces.
They deserve a 5.00 instead of a 3.00
And the reason for this low score, is you guessed it...It's in MIDI, And therefore Suffers from not sounding as good as some other top artists.
Now they use soundfonts to Jazz it up but still don't sound real.
I want to end this, and get every Audio author on Newgrounds Heard and Appreciated for their proffesional Music.
Now what I'm proposing is.
I need money for my New Audio Equipment.
Im sure people need MIDI's Orchestrated.
For a few bucks, I can orchestrate that MIDI, Getting the author heard at the same time, and Bringing me closer to that new Equipment.
Now don't read this and go "OMG, Loser"
Listen to some of my Audio before you do that.
My best Example is My Song "You Were There" Which came from a Horrible Sounding ICO MIDI, Now if you would like your songs to sound like that, send em to me.
I work at em for an hour.
Send em back.
You give me a buck or two, simple as that. Through Paypal or whatever.
Then your audio will be heard amongst the portal.
You still own every right to the song and can submit the Orchestrated version on your own account. Is this a good Idea?
Seeing the Caliber of my work it's definately a good deal.
Don't listen to my earlier stuff, listen to the "You were There" Song.
If you want to hear how good I can make them sound.
This is just an Idea and would gladly help out anyone with Making their MIDI's Sound better at a low low price. Is anyone Interested, I think it's a good Idea.
I'm sorry bud, but this isn't going to happen. There are plenty of other audio artists here that already have semi-pro or pro equipment. The idea is interesting (although that really isn't the reason for low scores).
I would suggest you earn the money yourself and then try this again, although you're not going to get much money from the gradeschool-aged kids on newgrounds. I dont know of anyone here who would give you money to buy good audio equipment, as it would take thousands to get nice gear.
Well, that is all in the semi-pro range, at best. Garritan is very limited (sounds a step or two above soundfonts), I would highly suggest going with an EWQLSO package, such as gold.
I would recommend getting Cubase or Sonar (or a Pro-tools solution) if you want to be serious. FL Studio can get limiting.
What are you doing to make most of your audio? It sounds like you are copying MIDI files and putting them into a sequencer then spitting them out as MP3. There is a serious compositional quality change between some of your pieces, which is somewhat strange.
I'm talking about compositional quality, not sound quality. I can care less about sound quality personally when it comes to newgrounds, I listen to how well a piece is composed. I am just wondering how much original music you are putting here and how much other stuff. I have a feeling you are taking midi files of music from these games and just running it through your samples.
Well I don't make that much original Music, that is until I get my MIDI Cable.
What I usually do is listen to the song, write out the notes, Play it using my Computer Keyboard as the MIDI Input since I dont have the MIDI Cables.
I do this for most songs, I got my MIDI's I use from VG Music.com
Other Times I use the MIDI and redo the Piano Roll into my Samples.
It varies from Simplicity of the MIDI, really.

That is violation of newgrounds rules, unfortunately. I would strongly recommend you stick with original stuff. You can only upload remixes and original works, not replicated midi files of songs, especially if it isn't your own work.

The point of the topic is to orchestrate Original MIDI's from people to Help Fund my Equipment.
I was using my Music on my Account for a showcave to let people know what I can do.
I didn't know it was violating the Rules.
But anyway back on topic.

Personally I would reccommend checking out these artists....
There are loads more great artists here, it all depends on personal tastes and willingness to search for the things you like.

that 's what got me screwed. i had 3 songs with 5s. and then 2.5 2.5 2.5 and 1.67.
plus klace: get a job, asking people for money on paypal only works if you have a somewhat well known website or something. people aren't going to send your their midi files. it just isn't worth it.
