hello.

Sorry, I know this is not the best place to start this thread but I could really do with your help.

I am going to be buying an i-pod nano but there's one important thing I must know before I purchase it.....

I want to know if the Nano can be used on more than one computer.
eg: I have two PCs, one at home, one at work, both with iTunes on, but with totally different music on each machine. Will it be possible to upload music from both PCs to the Nano?

Thanks for any help with this matter, it's been driving me mad trying to find an answer to this.

The answer is yes, just bring the software and stuff to the other computer

Or don't be a tool, and get an mp3 player that dosnt require I-tunes to work. Thats the big problem with ipods, you cant really just drag and drop stuff onto it, meaning you have to have the software on a computer before you can put files across.

That and the fact nanos are overpriced and snap in half, as well as its really easy to overcharge the batteries.

I'd recommend a creative zen.

I like iRivers. I got one for $200US that was 40 gigs, and had voice recorder, pic viewer, and color screen.

I still swear by my minidisc player. Infinate storage, easy to sort your tracks, quality stereo recording from proffesional microphones... lacks battery life though.

I don't much care... anyone of these things mentioned are smaller and more convienient than a CD player.

So, right now, I'm using my brothers Ipod.

cheapest mp3 player I could find cost £16.99 from argos. It had all the basic features, play, pause, scan, skip tracks, sort tracks into folders (though it has to be done on the PC), and had an sd card reader so essentialy, it could store up to a gig of data assuming you have the card, as well as the 256mb internal flash.

That and you didnt need any software to use it.

Do you need anything more?

No, but if my brother already spent money on an I-pod, why buy something else?

Cos its your brothers, n he might want it back one day, or decide that he wants it back whenever you least want to give it back?

Thats the other thing : I don't listen to music much.

But I make a hell of a lot of music.

Actually, they are...tapes sound so much warmer/dirtier than cds/mp3's. It's kind of nice.

Well, actually, I just stick with CD players. Meh, its been forever since I've touched a tape recorder.

Feh, tape recorders... I still have a record player. My favorite record has all of the Star Wars Trilogy music on one side, and 2001: A Space Oddysey on the other side.

It's awesome.

I'm a fan of all mediums, though honestly tape is my least favorite among them.

Records have a nice feel to them.

CD's are easily portable, and with a cd player with mp3 disk capability, you can fit a fair amount of songs on a cd.

I have an IPod Nano, and it's portability is nice and it suits my purposes (i'm both a music major and a sound engineer, so it's nice to be able to plug in my ipod to a board and put it through the system, not that it couldn't be done with other equpment as well)

The answer is technically yes, though generally the ipod doesn't like syncing with two different machines when you're adding music unless both machines have the same music on them.

I was going to say that but then I was like nah.

PiePie agrees with the above statement!
