No, all audio in the audio portal is copyright-free. so you can use as much audio from there as you like.

You can use commercial music, its a one off type of thing.. just credit who you use.. its just a fan made tribute .. if you go and make a career out of pico and copyrighted music then no you cant.

When ypu say "Career" do you mean like in this contest. Since we are competing in the contest we won't be able to use the music like from "Halifax" or "Linkin Park" because if we win we are making a profit off of our movie. In which has their music in it?

But what if we get their permission? And furthermore...if the music is copyrighted than all we have to do for a halifax song is in the credits Halifax - Broken Glass Sydrome - Copyrights Halifax right?

Well i had a chat with tom about this awhile back and while he encourages that people use music from resources like the audio portal, because its the safest route... however since this is a contest and even the characters being used arent ours its looked at as a fan tribute more than an actual money making scheme. I mean you could do it and not win. As I'm sure many will.

Worst case scenario if your movie turns uber popular Linkin Park or Tom himself could say hey please take that down at which point you would probably have to. In reality though LP and other commercial bands' lawyers have bigger fish to fry and so you can just sort of get around the system fairly uneventfully.

When i say 'career' i meant if you decided that you would use the pico family and pitch something to comedy central and have them licenced under your name with music by Linkin Park then you'd have a problem. Your aim at that point is clearly at using things for commercial gain. And to go commercial means you owe Tom royalties for Pico and LP royalties for their songs.

So to put bluntly is it allowed, yeah. Is it the greatest solution, no. It sort of limits you in the long run. But if you are doing it for the love of the series then it shouldnt matter to you anyway, your not after some prize or whatever. Your just doing it because you like pico and you like LP.

Guys.... i dont think im gonna be able to do this! This really sucks... my artist(lenny) got a refferal in school today because he was talkin with me. (referalls are really bad!) Anyways his mom got pissed at me... blamed all on me (he talked to me) so hes not allowed to do anything with me again. I am really sad that I wont be able to do this... and I am very sorry. :(

well if u look around the audio portal there's really a lot of music to choose from that kicks ass!
Plus it gives the toon more originality and keeps the NG and Pico theme...

This is what I did a while ago for my Pico - Star Wars Idea. But now i have a ton of schoolwork so I don't know If I'm gonna do it. Maybe i could just make the art/ animation for a game, i really don't know.

Also, if pico skywalker (lol) is running from the UberClones in that lair, how can i show the feeling of speed without using cheap flashing lines or something. Like what can i add to the enviornment, that will be rushing past him as he is running to show how fast he is going. I considered towers and windows, to have something in the fore and background, but thats too plain. Any suggestions?
