Nice one Coop. "Self impose an exile from the BBS for a day in shame." That should be a sig or something. Though I have no idea how I would make it look. Any ideas?

That's the thing - you don't have to impose bans, if you can show users how silly their ideas are. This was not one of the cases that was inferred in Mod School (Yes, we have one), but I felt that the idea of calling for a taxi for PuddinN64 was only moments away.

MOD SCHOOL?! Wow, I really had no idea you had to take a course about how to moderate the BBS or reviews. How long is it and how much does it cost? Are there any tests or quizzes? (I know these questions seem silly, but they are not. I'm being completely serious here.)

He's allowed to be a dick to you and have a joke about your spelling.... English is your native language. For ALDLV however... Spelling is NOT his native language.

This is true. Spanish is my first language too, and most of aldlv's mistakes are typical. We all made them at some point of another and it takes some time to actually learn not to keep making them. (hell, my English is not perfect either).

That's why I love the inbuilt spell checker for Firefox. Unfortunately, it doesn't see the uncapitalised i as a spelling error. So when I'm talking about myself... I have to make sure I capitalize the I... And since it's not a habit of mine to do that, I find it quite difficult. Plus, it's an American dictionary that comes with it, and I have the release candidate for Firefox, so the English dictionary doesn't work with it... Therefore words such as realise, that are spelt with an S in England... Are spelt with a Z in America.

I missed the spell checker A LOT while I was on vacation. The computer I used in the house I was staying at only had the Spanish spell checker, and I didn't want to change any of the configuration so I just had to deal with it.

And about the Firefox RC, I always used Firefox (even though now I'm using chrome), and I'm pretty sure that you can download the RC with built-in English (British) spell checker. Is this the latest RC? Because there's an English (British) download available.

England: Realise
America: Realize

What the fuck? I've been making the same mistake for years then! >:(

Okay, if everyone here wants to get technical, the language of America should be the Native American tongue. Everyone forgets that those poor bastards had been here for freakin' centuries before the Vikings ran into NewFoundland. Then then when Christopher "where the hell is India anyway - I didn't bring my GPS or a wife" Columbus discovered a new land, he told the King and Queen of Spain that he found a new land for conquest - even though he missed his mark by half the planet!

Once the Europeans started making forays to North America, they found it to be a great vacation spot. The Native Americans, who did not collect wealth and were generally living in harmony with the Earth, graciously gave these visitors land - and in return, they gave them diseases and lead poisoning. After a while, some of the Native Americans took affront to all of this, and started to fight back. So the Europeans hired mercenaries to come on in and kick some brick-red butt.

Later, the Spanish decided that not only did this new land look like a great place to live, but the ignorant primitives who had an Earth-based religion for many millennia needed to be saved by way of Jesus Christ. Now, trying to explain JC to the Native Americans is like trying to teach somebody with no feet how to tie a sneaker - it doesn't make sense. Well, that made it too challenging, so the Crusades began, and those who didn't follow JC wound up on the wrong side of dead.

Then after that, Britain sent out some of their own ships, and formed colonies all along the East Coast. These were met with varying degrees of resistance and friendship, but no matter how you sliced it, the Native Americans kept getting pushed off their land . Eventually, there were 13 colonies, which then became independent of Britain, and now a brand-new country was formed on the eastern side of a large continent that had already been spoken for,

Of course, religion followed, and the concept of "manifest destiny" was formed - meaning that it was "God's will" that the USA keep going west and taking all that it could - until they hit the left side of the continent. Hell, we didn't even stop there - we eventually grabbed Alaska from the Russians and Hawaii from the Philippines, and made a few small islands in the Caribbean our territories. All in the name of religion, we systematically vanquished the natives and their cultures. All that's left of the Native Americans are a few small spots of reservations, where we continue to pillage them by setting up casinos and cheap smoke-shops.

So, while all of you are debating over English and Spanish as the American Language, you are all forgetting that those are not the languages that were first spoken here. I just wanted to set the record straight!

ROFLMFAO!!! That should also be made into a sig. Holy crap Byte, you are on a roll as of late!!! *thumbs up*

more stuff

Well, you gotta admit, the Spaniards were more advanced than the natives then when the Revolution came around, the British didn't really know the land all that well whereas we Americans, we knew how to wage Guerrilla Warfare in the country.

Getting back to Manifest Destiny, I firmly believe that it is reversing itself, as I have seen who knows how many CA, CO, NJ, NY, FL, GA, TX, and a few other state's license plates here in Durham, NC. Isn't that why Manifest Destiny started in the first place!? The EASTERN SEABOARD GOT TO FRIGGIN' CROWDED! Mainly around NC and VA.

Anyway I caught two quality submissions one by SamT Ebola World Messed Up Bible Stories 7 and one by Warnockworld. Oh yes there is! I guess I just jumped in blindly and downloaded the US version... Because that was the default one to download when you hit the big "Download" button. Haha... Thanks for that, I guess I'd better download the British one soon. Haha.

Yeah I know some of the versions available because I always have to search in pages like that to find the Spanish version :)

I know right?!?! It's weird as hell. It's just silly little things like that, the S being a Z and all of that. It doesn't half make things really confusing sometimes.

I can understand that different countries use different words and expressions, there's nothing wrong with that. But the fact that sometimes the same word is spelled differently makes no sense :/

Unfortunatly Bdash... You still are not in the right place to join up. You need a BRONZE whistle to be able to apply for this club. I'd spend a bit more time flagging reviews with Cobra, as I remember corrently, you need 50 successful flags of abusive revues to reach Bronze. With Cobra's help, you will be there in no time ;)

Anywho, you're probably wondering why I'm posting on this account. Well, currently I'm sat in a hospital waiting room, and my appointment was supposed to be at 10:45... Finally, someone else that does this. My password as SoulMaster71 is so complex that if I ever get logged out, I need to copy and paste it from a file. Same with my main e-mail. Which of course is why I'm more often seen on this alt anymore: I can actually remember this password.

If anyone's interested, I've decided to put the chapters of my Yu-Gi-Oh! GX fanfic in my own little corner of the writing forum. At first I tried linking the chapters, but after a little close to a month of getting nothing not even reviews on my userpage, I figured, why the hell not put 'em on the writing forum? The writing forum is there for a reason.

I guess the main reason I waited so long is because I didn't want to seem like I was only posting for the sake of posting.

I'm a massive bonehead.

I just checked back into the EGB forums to read the replies to my introduction post, which I made about 2 weeks ago, and found that it wasn't there. I guess I must have somehow messed up and not posted it properly. I really should have noticed sooner but I've been mega busy lately and I haven't really thought about it until now.
Anyway I made another one and it's definitely posted properly this time so if you're interested in reading all sorts of useless information about me go check it out.
