hello friends.
I dont frequent these lands much, but im working on a trivia style quiz game based on NG, i was wondering if there was any users interested in lending their vast knowledge of the site to generate some questions. At this point im just going for quantity, as its easier to cut questions off if they dont fit or arent engaging enough. Yea just drop me a PM if youre bored

Of course. I guess most of us have stuck to replying only now.

You can always come back, even on an interim basis. I won't hold it against any one (or more) of you.

I get enough enjoyment from the main plot.
But that's the thing - blandy future Desmond Man is going to be the main plot somewhere down the line. You need to understand this, if you're planning on playing Brotherhood and beyond.
If they wanted to provide this crap, throwing so much text is not a good idea.

Tell me about it - despite the screen being massive at my girlfriend's house, it's not an HD TV, so the resolution of the text is fuzzy at best. I get a headache from the sub-plot and from trying to read all of that fuzzy text as well.

From what I've read about it, I preferred the Mafia and associated crimes, rackets and so forth from a gentler time - Goodfellas and Godfather, to be precise.

Going by other shows, all episodes will be shown in American first, then UK, then DVD. Also, series 6 hasn't even finished yet so we have a long wait.

If they haven't even finished the first half of season 6, there really is no hope for us. Let's see if they get it out before my 21st birthday which is in July.

True. You can clearly see some users above us have started to become careless with depositing. That should be the moments when we strike.

And that's why I love old timers slipping away. :P

Damn... this appearance change is almost worse than Banjo & Kazooie's when they moved to the XBox.

You'll probably think they're good in comparison.

I'll still hold out on that one. From the looks of things I won't be able to reach the top 50 until after level 60.
Perhaps. We can only hope that people will have had it with depositing when they reach level 60. Just like some gave up after reaching Sup Commander.

I am hoping that but then there's the possible level 61. I think some will stop once they reach level 60 since they think level 61 is a gimmick just like the last secret.

I never really bothered with Blue Mage to be honest, unless it's FFVII for Enemy Skill materia.
Well they always asign it to the lamest character it seems. I just like how versatile they are and I like hunting for their moves.

Good thing FFV was flexible so you could make any character Blue Mage.

The Enemy Skill materia was pretty awesome if I remember correctly. Moves like Beta and Aqualung could whipe the entire field throughout most of the game.

Yep, Aqualung and Trine are some good abilities for earlier points. However, I tend to stop using it after a while since it doesn't become very useful for the later part of the game.

It's crowded, noisy and everything is grey.
Which just proves once more that mankind is pretty stupid in general. :(
At least the city center of Hamburg is pretty nice, even though it's quite a posh area.
I suppose you guys are better at rebuilding cities than we are. Fortunately it was only Rotterdam that was bombed.

Yes, it's amazing if you compare old after war pictures with how it looks today.

Some students do here. It's quite nice that you can just grab a bag of crisps, lean back in your chair and follow the lecture. If you need to go somewhere, just pause it.
This reminds me. We always wanted to order a pizza during one of our lectures and have it delivered into the lecture hall. ^^
I tried watching some e-learning videos, but it was too boring...
Haha, actually I had that plan recently as well, since they scheduled lectures from 15:45 to 19:45. I thought I could go make a point by ordering a pizza during the lecture :p

If you have a wide array of vegan restaurants there I could probably convince my gf to go to Hamburg this summer. Although she might rather go to Berlin. She's talked about spending a holiday there several times now.

I suppose you guys are better at rebuilding cities than we are. Fortunately it was only Rotterdam that was bombed.

Of course you never know how the teacher will react. If he has a sense of humour he'll probably laugh about it, but if he doesn't... well you might have a problem. I know some teachers hate to be disturbed during the lectures.

Also, there's a no eating rule in the lecture rooms, so I can imagine I won't be allowed to eat the pizza anyway unless I go sit outside :p

The magic spells was flexible (as in giving them to any character) but you still had Quistis' limit break for blue magic. Not only did I never use Quistis, I never really liked the limit break system in FFVIII. I feel we've talked about this before but I feel FFX does perfection with limit breaks.

Well, eventually you find even better abilities like Ultima + Quadra Magic and 4x-Cut which could even take a good chunk out of Sephiroths health IIRC.

Yep, those alone can take off a lot of damage from Sephiroth. It's a shame he isn't strong once you've beaten Emerald and Ruby Weapon but at least he isn't a complete joke like Yu Yevon.

Never heard of them... *listens on YouTube* wow, that's pretty poor, considering we're going to see a Metal Gig. They aren't a bad band, in their own right, except for the fact that they seem to be highly influenced by AC/DC. Just don't come and support Maiden, thanks.

Also, I had a very vivid dream the other night - I went to the Maiden Gig in Birmingham and there was a guy sitting next to me with a hoodie on, obscuring his face. I was talking to Bex and said that I hoped they played New Frontier, since I can sing along with it. This guy chimes in "New Frontier, from Dance of Death? How's that go, I can't remember." Glancing across to a friend, who is a drummer for Shadow of Intent, he takes up the beat and I launched into the chorus line, which the guy appreciates.

After a few minutes, the stands are starting to fill up and the anticipation builds, plus additional banter. He gets up and says "Time for me to go to work." I was confused, as why would you go to the buildup to the support act and not stay for the rest, because of work. Then he (predictably) reveals that he is in fact Bruce Dickinson, leaving me starstruck, but credited one autograph.

During the gig, they decided to play New Frontier and Nico goes and gets cramp (poor form). Fortunately, a solution is present and Bruce calls on the services of yours truly and Dr. Stix. He takes over from Nico for New Frontier and I sing along with Bruce on stage.

Am I going mad?

Since Valentines Day is over with I decided to go back to my light aura. It looks much better in my opinion, but I've always changed aura color for upcoming holidays. Neutral for St. Patties Day, evil for Christmas, dark for Halloween, etc...

My Save count alone would make me a supreme commander.

30,000 Saves.

Glad to be back in the grove of things it took me forever to get from 28,000 to 29,000 and a much shorter amount of time to get to 30,000

Yes, but against a team which name I can't even pronounce they should be able to win either way.
On paper, definitely, but you never know. I believe Shaktar Donetsk has been playing quite well in Europe the last few years and I guess they're quite comfortable in their underdog position.

Yeah they did. Still, it's a home game for Roma, so it's really embarrassing to concede 3 goals...

If you have a wide array of vegan restaurants there I could probably convince my gf to go to Hamburg this summer. Although she might rather go to Berlin. She's talked about spending a holiday there several times now.

Vegan Restaurants? I honestly don't know, but I'm pretty sure there are some.
*looks up restaurants on google*
Well, by the looks of it there are quite a few vegetarian restaurants that also offer vegan meals.

I suppose you guys are better at rebuilding cities than we are. Fortunately it was only Rotterdam that was bombed.
Yes, it's amazing if you compare old after war pictures with how it looks today.
I suppose in the end the German cities got it worst during the war.

Quite so. But to look on the bright side: At least Germany lost the war. I really wouldn't want to live in a world where the Nazis had won the war.

Haha, actually I had that plan recently as well, since they scheduled lectures from 15:45 to 19:45. I thought I could go make a point by ordering a pizza during the lecture :p
This would be priceless. I guess every student has similar thoughts, but I doubt anybody had the balls to actually do it.

We only have such a rule in computer labs, but not in the normal lecture rooms. Sometimes I think the prof doesn't care what the students do during the lecture, as long as they don't disturb it.

Yeah, that I can live with. We can make "The absolute noisiest" as a joke bonus track.

Okay, that way we both are happy.

3 years ago was 2008. Didn't seem that long ago to me.
3 years from now it's 2014, which seems like a century away right now.
It'll be there before you know it.

I don't care too much for the future because the here and now is much more important to me. Maybe that's why I feel 2014 is so "far" away.

Well, I always change my aura when I level up. Also of course the most fitting aura for level 45 is the dark aura.

What did you make of Tuesday's Heavyweight bout - Gennaro Gattuso Vs Joe Jordan? According to my dad, if Jordan was angry, he'd have eaten Gattuso alive.

Some other people share that view as well.
I only saw this incident while I was already half asleep. But I guess Gattuso would stand no chance against Jordan.
They made footballers from sturdy materials back in the day. Especially scottish ones.

Yes, one can get the impression that scots are of tough stock. Jordan should've pulled out his fake teeth and look angrily at Gattuso. I bet he would've showed the white feather.

As regular posters, yes.

Yeah, I don't care much about them getting BP or not. But on the forums it'd be nice to see some of them return.

Yeah, and that's saying something considering they changed to this.
Hell, that doesn't even look bad. Maybe not as good as the N64 appearance but we've seen far worse.

Well, I just think they look way different from their N64 appearance and I don't like how they tried to move away from their cartoony look and tried to add some realism to their images. They did the same with Conker, although there they didn't do such a crappy job.

Oh well, it will take around 15 more years before we will finally find out.
Haha, we only wonder who'll still be around by then.

I'll be 36 then... well I wouldn't be the oldest user ever on NG, but I doubt I'll be able to connect very well with the teenagers on these boards anymore :p

I prefer such systems as well. In FF VII you were also pretty much free to set every character up in the way you wanted to. That way there weren't any characters which you never used anyway (apart from Cait Sith).
The magic spells was flexible (as in giving them to any character) but you still had Quistis' limit break for blue magic. Not only did I never use Quistis, I never really liked the limit break system in FFVIII. I feel we've talked about this before but I feel FFX does perfection with limit breaks.

I don't think we talked about limit breaks before. I think FF VIII system was alright, although you could abuse it to hell by keeping your HP low. That was actually the main attacking strategy for me throughout the game.

In FF IX I think the limit break system sucked ass. It took ages to load it up and it happened to me often that I had already done enough to kill an opponent and had to let someone's limit break go to waste.

I've never beaten those two weapons, but I can imagine it's very easy to beat Sephiroth if you can take on those.

The thing about Sephiroth was, his Supernova always took 9/10th of your HP and would instantly charge up your limit breaks. So you could counter with Omnislash and what not which would pretty much kill him straight away (if you had decent attack that is though).

Lol. Joe Pesci is in Casino as well, so you'll get plenty of that ;)
It can't be as bad as Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon, surely.

I don't know about that, but Joe Pesci has this typical way of talking that only makes him suitable for mobster roles.

Alright. I'm sure she'll gladly go there someday then, but perhaps not this summer yet. We might be a little bit short on funds due to us moving to Den Haag and all.

I suppose in the end the German cities got it worst during the war.
Quite so. But to look on the bright side: At least Germany lost the war. I really wouldn't want to live in a world where the Nazis had won the war.

I don't know if they could really have managed to take over countries like Russia, America, China and so forth. If they hadn't stranded in Russia, they would've probably stranded somewhere else.

The profs don't care about eating, but occasionally some janitor walks around and tells people to put away their drinks and sandwiches. Most people just put their food back on the table as soon as the lecture starts though, the janitor won't come back in anyway :p
