Khuskan - Pulsar

My latest venture into pesudo-trance epic music, or whatever you want to call it. This was written as the theme tune for the semi-well known hl2 mod SourceForts for which I am the cheif (though only) sound engineer.

Strangely enough, this song is older than exaggurate, but at the time I wrote it, the mod was under a non-disclosure agreement. Now we've opened up, this is what I have to show for it.

A symphonic march.

I set myself the challenge of fluently learning how to use Sibelius in 5 hours. Well, to be honest, there wasn't actually a time limit, but that's how long it took to come up with this little number. Of course, the final rendition is done in Reason, because otherwise it would be cheap little midi sounds, and that would be bad, amirite?

I FINALLY tried putting together a "bodhran and bass" track...combining the awesome sound of the tradtional Celtic drum with electronic sounds...It actually turned into something a little lighter, but I still like it...the drum beat is just a little off from the sequenced drum track, and creates a really neat synchopation.
