i don't try to be any kind of punk.. the most "punk" thing i do is to book bands at a scene.
as far as i can recall i didn't say they worent punk cus theyre new..maybe i did..whatev. anyway. MOST new punk bands isnt "exactly punk" in my eyes..if you get what i mean.
most bands is inspired by the good 'ol 77' punk, but theyre kinda much harder. there is of course some bands these days, but as mentioned, most bands ain't got the old punk spirit.
it is the New Punk, so i guess oxymoron, varukers etc is punk of today. i'm noone to categorize them, but this is my view of music.
Ska is a mixture of a few kinds of music (reggae, punk etc.), screamo hasn't been around long at all, in fact, if you ask some people that listen to punk, they'll tell you that it wasn't all that long ago when screaming was accepted in music. Until then, it wasn't used or recognized in the music industry.
