save game as .swf?

(I'm sorry because I'm double-posting because I don't know which is a better forum to talk about this, write it down on the comments and I'll delete the topic on general or where is/how to/help!)

Is it possible to save your flash games as .swf on Animate CC or any other program? I tried to change the file name from .fla to .swf and it doesn't work, it's just a blank white space. So does anyone know what to do or it no longer exist because Flash is now Animate CC?

I use one of the older versions of Flash, but are you saving it or exporting it?
Saving it only works as a WIP and you will only be able to save it as a .fla file, unlike exporting which lets you do anything.
