Watched 1994's Maverick.
Really fun movie! I love westerns and thought this one had a really nice angle in that it was focused on a getting to and playing in a giant poker tournament. Mel Gibson did a great job of playing a cocky and charming Bret Maverick and I love how genuinely funny a lot of the film was. Plus, there's a lot of plot twists that I genuinely didn't see coming, which was surprising in a genre film like this one. I wouldn't put this up there with the true classics like Tombstone, but I'm really glad that I watched this movie as it was pretty damn fun.
Plus there's a Lethal Weapon cameo in this that was amazing.

Watched 1980's Flash Gordon.
What a charmingly goofy film. It really leaned into the "camp" value of those old Hollywood movies and wasn't shy about embracing the fact that it was a big dumb space opera with an over-the-top villain and corny story. It took itself just serious enough where it had real stakes and wasn't a total joke, but wasn't pretentious about anything. Honestly, it was kind of refreshing to have a movie just tell a silly story without constantly winking at the camera or being self-important. It's hard to hate a movie that features Hawkmen battling space robots. The green screen effects were kind of dated and dumb looking, but that only added to the nostalgic charm in my eyes.
Plus, that theme song by Queen is radical. I'm gonna have that stuck in my head for DAYS now.

Just watched Wonder Woman. I thought it was pretty good. The soundtrack is kickass and I enjoyed Gal Gadot's performance. I might have to watch the sequel
