I always have a problem working with full color because splotchy looking paint looks too unfinished to me, and I don't know how to make subtle color shifts look "clean". So I guess I would just recommend that if you're practicing, make sure you practice the finishing process at some point as well. I know some painters leave their colors splotchy anyways, but bleh, I can't stand that.
