Good sequels are hard to come by but they do exist it just seems like they are getting pulped in favour of getting a film out the door quicker for the cash grab...
Man, if only we could make a sequel to a movie that only reveals itself as a sequel at the very end. So you think "wow that was an awesome movie" and then SURPRISE it was a sequel all along and it all makes sense. But you have no clue til its over.

we need a sequel to airplane. but i feel if they do it might be terrible.
The Golden Compass, as the original film was planned to have sequel(s) but ended abruptly to director disputes so the series is going to be no more. Damn shame, it was a truly interesting, magical movie.
I wouldn't mind Cloud Atlas and Inception having spiritual successors but they are great films as standalones
