Splatoon is an amazing game in by yourself, but so much better on-line. Does anybody still play it?

Really interested in this game. I'll probably pick up a Wii U at some point, Splatoon will definitely be one of my first purchases.
illicit makes a damn good signature.
The only problem with on-line play is being under level 10 and fighting against level 30 or higher players.

This.
Also you can't choose what map or ranked game mode you want to play. You just have to hope they rotate to whatever maps and game mode you like. You can't set up custom matches or make private rooms either. The rotation thing is probably an issue with Nintendo's servers, but whoever thought the map should be randomly picked better have been fired.

The controls are fine. You have to play the solo mode first, before the multiplayer mode.
Oh man, Splatoon... Never played but I do hope it can come to PC as well. But as it's made by Nintendo, unlikely...

You will have to purchase a WII U to play it.

That was never a problem for me. It's about skill and I always get the team with no skill.
Levels/Ranks in non RPG games are just numbers, meaningless numbers.

That is not true. If you have friends on your friend list, you can play matches with them.

Exactly. You can set up a private room with friends, but if you want to make a password-private room where anyone with the password can join, you are out of luck.
Although I don't know that's common in console games so forgive me if that isn't a fair criticism.

Higher levels can get better gear with more abilities, and use better weapons.

If they do, it will be for the next console.

Did you play during a Splat Fest event? One of the best parts of the game.

Did you enjoy it? Splatoon has been out over a year, and they are still making new Splatfests.
