Its something internal. I have retractable cable and I switched it with another and its still not working.

Also verify it isn't the preamp/line-out/interface. I had a similar problem with one of my interfaces where it turned out the potentiometer (what the knob actually controls) inside controlling the volume had worn out for one channel but not the other so the left side would sound but the right would not... luckily that interface has two outputs! So now I just use the second one. :D
I own HD 25 and pins disconnect all the time, resulting in left or right getting muted.
Hopefully on this model, pins are external and it is very easy to open/repair/customize.
I had an older different sennheiser model (white hd 200 if i remember correctly) and it was the same, one day right or left muted, turns out the inside cable were disconnected. Welding fixed the issue. You could also put some tape as temporary fix.
It seems to be a common problem with Sennheiser?...

or be lazy and buy hd 600 if you are that "oh my bmw's ashtray is full, lets buy a new bmw" kind of person^^

You may be able to bring the headphones to a sort of electrician if they are near you, sometimes that is all you need.
In the meantime if you need to compose something, try a dollar store like (cheap goods), to hold you over in the meantime.

The head adjusting folds have cutt into the cable and exposed and separated the wires. The cable pretty impracticaly folded under without any protection from the rectractables

Have you ever tried running with them over long distances? I bought a snazzy in-ear pair a couple of weeks ago, but I never accounted for the fact that athletic-oriented headphones tend to be constructed in a way that makes them resistant to sweat and other fluids. These pair were not athletic, and I'm pretty sure that the sweat from the inside of my ears leaked inside the speakers and caused them to stop working. Now here I am, $40 in the hole with a broken pair of headphones filled with ear sweat. Everybody in school calls me Wet Willie now...

These are what I use. They are fantastic, the quality is very nice, the EQ isn't all wonky like with Beats Audio. And they are on sale for only $50, which is INSANE. Like, there are plenty of headphones with worse quality and more money. From what I'm reading, your headphones are not only more pricey, but also seem to be a bit inferior in sound quality. For instance try to clean the minijack with a microfibre smoothly, and try them with differents devices turning up and down the volume and if you have an amplifier use it there... that's what i would do.

Yeah that pretty much always happens to my headphones sooner or later. First the right channel gives out. (Always the right channel too, for some reason). After some time later the left channel also gives out.
Solution -- buy new headphones.
Then again I always buy inexpensive stuff, so I can see being pissed if you spent like $200 on a pair of headphones and it did this. I don't spend any more than say $30, and typically more like $10 to $15. Think how many replacement headphones you could buy if you bought cheaper stuff.
The pair I am currently using is an inexpensive pair made by General Electric, and they haven't given out and they seem to be lasting a lot longer than previous headphones I've bought. Stay away from discount store headphones. Your mileage may vary.
Update!
Got some spare headphones from my DJ friend. The one that used my persona to secretly promote his radio, some of you might remember me ranting about it.
Headphones are muddy and overbassed. My sennheisers were sharp and balanced...
I realy need to get that job or I will go super crazy.
NOTE: They also have inbuilt dimensional reverb for some reason so it feels liek everything is in a cave... Wish I knew how to reverse that.
